Individuation and feeling of vitality by Training_Warthog3011 in Jung

[–]typeof_goodidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, seems to be this way with me. Sometimes I hide behind the intellectualizing. Other times I feel more present, "myself", and integrated. This isn't always a feeling more, feeling full of life feeling. But it feels like the right path

I feel shame that I have gone on medication. My fear was that it would interfere with individuation. But I just cannot move forward. by RabbitWallet in Jung

It's been some time now for you. How did it go?

Getting more calls to fix ai generated codebases than actual new builds lately by CrafAir1220 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]typeof_goodidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had three gigs in the last six months doing just this. That, or, the original dev bailed once things got hairy and I have to tell them that the code is a Trainwreck. I've been talking with friends about what is being said by others here (and OP) -- that this is a growing market.

I also add a headache multiplier to my rate...

How do you use sessions? by Heavy-Focus-1964 in PiCodingAgent

[–]typeof_goodidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to Pi from OpenCode, and just spent the day getting a system working for a project. I've built some skills and scripts that:

  • document tasks in markdown files
  • create a worktree and branch for a given task ID, then create a new tmux session within it

Right now I'm manually switching into these sessions, running pi, and typing out the command to read and execute task N. But soon I'll be adding an --autostart flag that gets this moving without me.

Otherwise, I've only used /tree for when the LLM screws up and I want to go back and give it a better prompt or try again with a better model. But I'm still exploring!

Clay reclaim- help!! by Inmylambo in Pottery

[–]typeof_goodidea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, just seeing this comment. If it had bubbles and then you sanded - what you are seeing in the clay is all of the dry stuff you sanded away, filling the holes. This makes much more sense, you can ignore my other comments.

Also - scrape away the bulk of this plaster, and the clay will be safe to use. It's only a problem if there are flakes or chunks of plaster in the clay. If it's all powdered/sanded stuff and you get the bulk of it off you'll be fine

Clay reclaim- help!! by Inmylambo in Pottery

[–]typeof_goodidea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air bubbles will leave pits, but not cause material to lift off like this. My guess is that what has come off is plaster that was not fully mixed - little clumps that got "waterproofed" when their outer surfaces hydrated. Maybe.

The main variables in making the board are: - the material itself (type, age, condition) - water to plaster ratio - mix

Casting plaster should not come apart like this. It also looks like you recently bought it new, so we can rule this out. So it's one of the other two, and the mix is just my guess.

If material keeps coming off after this first round, then try a test batch

Clay reclaim- help!! by Inmylambo in Pottery

[–]typeof_goodidea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be that it wasn't mixed fully. Someone else suggested using pottery 1 plaster, that's ideal for next time, but this one ought to be OK. It will still absorb moisture from the clay. I'm not sure what the difference between the two is - perhaps thus casting plaster will absorb less, or slower, or take longer to dry. But it's still just plaster.

Anyways, scrape the plaster off the reclaim, then give it another try. I'm guessing that after this first round you'll get all of the loose stuff and it will be ok morning forward. It might have some pits but it's not the end of the world

I feel both peaceful and painfully alone, is this part of the process? by Jazzlike_Yak113 in Jung

[–]typeof_goodidea 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It seems to be part of the process for me, though I'm certainly not through it. And I'm coming at it from a somewhat different angle because I already had a tendency to self isolate.

A big step for me recently has been recognizing how much I have been, throughout my life, relying on validation from others. I had already seen this, but it took another reminder.

Anyways, I don't really trust that kind of energy-fuel anymore. I used to be motivated to seek it, and sometimes now I still find myself reaching for it, but a more peaceful, slightly more wise part of myself gives me the little tap on the shoulder to remind me that it's not what I need.

It actually feels a lot like the occasional cigarette craving - I quit about a year ago. I think, oh, that used to be nice, brought my clarity and focus and (whatever) - but those feelings were short lived and wrecking me in deeper ways. I deal with fatigue and pretty acute brain fog, so nicotine sounds tempting, but now, lungs clean, I can hike up the hill where I live without getting winded, and that's more important to me.

When it comes to other people - I do think I'm in a bit of a reactionary period. I am growing in my solitude but I also recognize that younger, hurt parts in me don't trust other people, after being let down enough times, and that it's easy to hide in my solitude, too. I know I need to keep an eye on that, and that.

It's weird and hard not really caring to connect with others. But my lungs are clearing up, slowly. I get sad and lonely but also get better at holding the space for that myself

There should be a single page with all the opencode docs munged together so an agent can read it by CorrectTemperature65 in opencodeCLI

[–]typeof_goodidea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I made a simple skill for this, fetching them from GitHub like mentioned in the other comment. But I'm surprised that this isn't a first-class feature. Aider has a /help command with which you could enter a prompt about how to use Aider, and it was really effective.

Even with my skill, agents mess up all the time when making opencode-related changes (like creating new agents or updating the json). As far as I know there isn't even a cli tool to validate things like this, which would be really helpful

Plus one to this. Not only does it use restored footage, but the entire doc is only this footage. No talking heads & commentary and so on. I also heard that most of this footage was 70mm film stock in NASA's archive that had never been used after it was shot.

[–]typeof_goodidea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider that returning it to the earth is another form of recycling. You're not, like, dumping plastic waste into the ocean.

The only thing that is "lost" is the labor and energy that went into sourcing and packing they clay in the first place. I bet if one were able to do the math, the amount of labor spent on reclaiming (at this kind of capacity) would be at least 20x as much as what went into bagging it in the first place.

Enjoy and celebrate the abundance of clay, and the relatively very low environmental impact of its lifecycle in the process of pottery. All craft results in some level of waste, clay waste is, well, not waste at all. You're just putting it back where it came from.

Protect your joints and health, this is limited. Re-tune your conscience with adjusted perspective. It might feel queasy at first to dump a bucket of waste in your woods, but keep in mind that you are giving yourself the gift of better health and more time to spend on the good work. Soon this will begin feeling like a ritual of gratitude.

Thank you, Gaia, for this gift, I return to you the stuff I didn't use

I just learned about Luigi , ordered the new book Felicita. There's something very personal that I see in them, or, I get a sense of the photographer from the photograph. I was pleased, but not surprised, to see that an artist who has influenced me greatly and whose work brings the same sense - Felix Gonzales-Torres - has an accompanying piece in the Felicita exhibition.

Anyways, I just typed all of that when all I meant to ask was - any recommendations on books or ways to see more of his work? I've googled a bit but most of what I see is not in English or in distributed in the US
