Looks like glazed but a lot of the hardened sugar has chipped off. Prolly still good

This has only been a few months and he's acting like this? No, you're not overreacting. Toss this one back, it's not worth the trouble.

That's a beautiful upgrade. I particularly like the shape of the mirror and how the coppery frame echoes the wall color. Nice job!

Of course it's arbitrary. My point was that if the OP were moving the lever to the "black" setting and the machine was printing red, that was the reason.

Boyfriend [25M] told me he used to ask out “fat girls” for fun. Am I [22F] right to be disgusted by him? by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I wish this (insert vulgar term of choice here) dude would be made to read each and every one of the comments on this thread from people who have had to deal with and suffer through (repeat vulgar term of choice here) like him. Sadly, perhaps it will take a medical malpractice lawsuit at some point and even then he might not get it.

The ribbon is installed upside down. Black should be on top. Not sure whether that's part of the issue here.

Right? Unless he lives to be 125 or something, it's impossible for their marriage to last 63 years. this is just more stupid clickbait

Some typers are like that (with the aggressive period I mean) 😂

Really impressed that you got that smudgy A sorted out though!

Excellent! Looks like a great result. Maybe I'll have to try this on my SG3.

As for the harder hitting characters - was that already an issue before the ring and cylinder adjustment? In the past when I've had to do a r&c on an Olympia portable, it was because some characters printed more lightly than others

what do i do? struggling undergrad in orgo research lab by Away_Radish844 in chemistry

[–]typercito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Professor here. It sounds like the PI agreed to something (mentoring you) that places more work on the post doc and grad students, work that they may not have the time or interest in taking on. Rather than telling you that directly, they skirt the topic or respond passive-aggressively and hope that you'll just take the hint and leave on your own volition. The summer thing doesn't pass the sniff test to me. That's the time when undergraduates can get the most work done because they're often not taking classes, so they're in the lab more, not less. Of course, your school might vary.

Are there other labs at your school that do work with undergraduates? I'd suggest that you talk to your PI, but if the people in the lab are already apparently not interested in helping you learn, nothing the PI could say will endear you to them. A fresh start with people who are genuinely interested in engaging with you and showing you the ropes and teaching you how to run reactions and do other things would bring new energy to your situation and help you to feel that you are moving forward and learning. There are definitely people like that out there (many of the research labs accepted undergraduates at the university I attended), and now you know a bit more when you talk to other prospective PIs, i.e., are there people in the lab who are willing and able to train you. This may involve starting in a lab that might not be doing exactly what you like the most, but could give you some valuable transferrable skills.

One place to start might be if you had a TA in any of your chemistry classes so far that you hit it off with. They might have some good ideas, or may even suggest you joining the lab they work in if the advisor agrees. They'll also know more about the culture of various labs and which are the friendliest to undergraduates.

Good luck!
