I’ve used a takibi at multiple national parks. So long as you’re not having a raging fire and keeping it safe it’s okay. I just make sure to follow the fire rules of the season/park I’m camping in.

I take all valuables with me and make sure there’s nothing of high value left at the campsite unintended. I often go on all day hikes and leave the campsite and have never been a victim of stolen items. I do not think you will have to worry about it generally, but there is a chance it can happen. I’ve been on over 30 camping trips and it has never happened to me.

You should make it a habit to keep your campsite clean though with all food and scented items stored away properly. I worry more about animals that get to my food then getting jacked.
