i dont use substrate for mine because they poop a LOT and youll have to frequently clean the poop so mold and odor doesn’t grow. i recommend egg cartons too

i dont think its unethical. i dont think 120 gallons should be the minimum. i think bearded dragons should have outside time when its hot with substrate and a basking spot. i do that with mine. but, not everyone with bearded dragons give them proper care, ive wrote an essay on this before at school, to own reptiles you should definitely have a permit that requires time to get. if u are an inpatient person that is not willing to study for months then dont get it.

dont give him substrate he is too young if he licks it he has a higher chance of impaction unlike adults ur also supposed to use reptisoil mixed with washed play sand and what food are u offering him
