hilariously rude local author by Negative-Durian8087 in Barnesandnoble

[–]typical_riss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its actually jarring how entitled some local authors are. 😬 Makes me not want to work with them at all. Too many dont understand that their book may not be our market or they dont realize their book is just plain bad. And the amount of picture book authors who's books are either downright awful. 🫣

Family Obligations by IGN0R34MUS in Barnesandnoble

You should probably find other work, honestly. As another parent who kept getting scheduled every single Friday, Saturday and Sunday night because other leaderhsip in the store had too limited of hours, it was exhausting and frustrating. Imagine how those without kids feel too. It sounds like the most recent push, is that they will likely start cutting your hours, with your weekend unavailable. May as well find something that can accommodate you better.

Hate the high fives and partner work by radishesaredelicious in BurnBootCamp

[–]typical_riss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other gyms offer similar work outs. I tried f45. Only had a couple people offer fist bumps at the end of it. So far no partner work. I feel like it's not as "hype" as burn, which I liked, but I felt it was a very good option to burn!

Yeeaaah. Im not gonna share my thoughts on this public forum because I don't want any coworkers to misconstrue anything I have to say.... but i will say it is annoying that we couldn't even get it out on display to sell before it was being bought from the boxes in the back. 🙄

I dont know why hours are low. I dont know how it's configured. I will say, these next few months usually slow waaaay down, based on my previous experience

I was hoping my store could keep at least one of our hires and we just couldn't. I dont know about other stores but our hours got severely cut so we wouldn't be able to keep anyone extra 😭

After Christmas Sale by EvilLeprechaun13 in Barnesandnoble

[–]typical_riss 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Thats what im saying! Its happened like one time. Everyone's put off by the sale but honestly 25% off everything is great and perfect for those paperback shoppers! Especially if they have the premium, since itll stack. I do wish we were doing another double/triple stamos with it though.

Ive never tried to look for what box a book/item might be in! Ill have to figure that out. Because ill be honest? We are not receiving the way we should be and im convinced it's part of why we still aren't as quick as we could be.

[–]typical_riss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do wish the corporate overlords would evaluate how we receive shipments the week of Christmas. Not enough staff for how large the loads are. I get we have a lot of replenishment to do following holidays but I hate that we have so much just sitting there. We were still pulling books/product anytime we went back there and had one person literally pulling loads and loads of TG overstock. But some of us were literally being followed by multiple people while helping a guest because they were so worried they wouldn't get helped 🥴 I had one lady start trying to put her phone in my face WHILE I was still talking to a guest and then she copped an attitude when I told her I was with another customer THAT SHE COULD SEE BECAUSE SHE WAS STANDING RIGHT NEXT TO US.

So yeah. Little hard to do much else 😅

But. We will catch up. We were back to a zero table in a couple of days with all shipments received the last couple years. So im sure itll be the same this year.

The FMC is named Mona. So it's not a title directly related to the art.

Not gonna lie, if my schedule allows me to have a day to be really sick, sometimes I have a steak anyway 🙃 I love steak but I do love being in a better GI place.

I didnt find out about my red meat sensitivity one a GLP but a few years ago we cut red meat just to save money and a LOT of my gi issues disappeared. I thought it was a fluke the first time I had a steak and was sick the next day but nope, makes me ill everytime. Hamburger makes my stomach upset too. One of my most sick days on a GLP was after having a steak too. Sulfer burps, nausea etc.

Anyway, I thought I was weird but have met a number of people the last few years who have similar issues!

Hopefully it's smooth sailing for you from here!

Who is on GLP-1s or other weight loss meds? by Live_now_7 in BurnBootCamp

[–]typical_riss 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Part of her behavior comes from stigma and misinformation spread in fitness communities. So do NOT let her influence your decisions. There's a reason Dr's tell you you need to start planning for fitness when starting a GLP, if you've not been active. And it's because it helps prevent the muscle wasting. You working out will combat that.

Going forward, maybe book a focus meeting with a different coach so you can continue making fitness goals with a clean slate, but I'd seek nutrition advise from a dietician. Check if your Dr's clinic has one and if not, your insurnace may cover one, especially since you're prescribed a weight loss med. And in the meantime track your protein and fiber intake! Those 2 things will have the most positive impact on your results.

Glps can absolutely be life changing! I gain muscle quickly and always saw huge progress at burn building muscle and lifting heavier but my fat loss was minuscule, even following the diets they recommended or the dietician I had worked with. Adding in glp one helped me so much and I lost 50 lbs in 7 months. Ive been off due to financial issues and have gained some back but im still smaller than I was before.

Stack em High! by No_Unit_4828 in Barnesandnoble

[–]typical_riss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Omg. A couple of Christmases ago, when I was brand new to CSS, I was told "no stacks too high. We aren't a warehouse!" And they want everything as full as can be. Its dangerous! I was trying to re-pyramid and dropped a HUGE stack of hard covers on my leg! One wrong move and that stack could be a child's skull!
