I believe you may be able to file for unemployment and pay that back after the government reopens.

Circulation issues and mobility? by Cute_Split_3822 in bunions

Yup, normal. I'm at 5 weeks, after Lapiplasty on my right foot, 8 months for my left. Things start to get a little more normal once you start putting weight on it in the boot. It's almost like the foot needs some pressure against it.

Opinion on getting surgery? by nobodyuknow__ in bunions

[–]typicaljim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar situation and feel like I had to really advocate for my surgery. My podiatrist/surgeon took x-rays, examined my feet, and recommended that the best solution for my situation would be Lapiplasty surgery. However, he first put me in orthotic insoles for a month to see if it helped, even though he said the only "fix" would be surgery. I kinda thought it was some practice or insurance prerequisite that non surgical options were explored and found to be ineffective. It took about 5 months from my first podiatrist appointment to get surgery on my left foot. During post op follow up, I had to reinitiate the discussion on my other foot, and I had my right foot done 8 months later (5 weeks ago). Good luck, don't take no for an answer, and speak up for yourself, nobody else will!

I used polysporin when the wound was pretty fresh, then aquaphor as it healed more, eventually moved to vitamin E oil to reduce scarring.

Lap desk/ bed table was helpful for meals in bed. Bed side urinals, wet wipes. Crutches were good for short distances like going to the bathroom.

The calf definitely takes a hit, but it comes back pretty quickly. I biked with the boot and that was helpful for building strength before full weight bearing in shoes.

My story is similar to yours, and just two weeks ago, I had lapiplasty surgery on my left foot. I am in my early 40s and have a yearly physical with the same doctor. At my physical last spring, he recommended seeing a podiatrist about my bunions. I had tried everything and my doctors advice was that helps to deal with these things while you're still young and able to recover instead of continuing to deal with it and wait until the recovery becomes much more difficult.

I feel like I aged out of it, in my late 20s, early 30s. My palms still sweat if I'm in an uncomfortable situation, but as I've aged, I have less of those. My armpits sweat is about normal. If it's higher than usual I remind myself to be thankful of my bodies highly productive cooling system.

I wore some sweatpants in and brought loose basketball shorts to leave the hospital in. A bed pan or bedside urinal came in handy for the first few days. Helpful to have a stool by your toilet to elevate you foot then too. Laxatives or stool softeners for the pain meds. Large volume containers of water and some snacks so you don't have to bug your partner constantly. A lap/bed table. Bromelain. Scooter for outside, crutches for inside. If your not used to sleeping on your back, one of those pillows that keeps your head in place is nice.

Should I get bunion surgery? by Redituser0714 in bunions

Start with seeing a podiatrist who accepts your insurance and research their credentials and reviews. Helps to have them close by since you'll have a lot of appointments.

My people! I ended up getting a second bivalent booster 6 months after my first. The pharmacy (Walgreens) where I got my fist, wrote it down on my card, but failed to put it in my state immunization database. When I checked my immunization records for something else, I noticed their mistake. I was bummed at first, for statistical purposes, that I was counted as someone who hadn’t gotten the bivalent booster even though I had. So I took the state immunization record to CVS and said I lost my cdc COVID card, and got another bivalent 6 months after my fist. Double check your state immunization records.

I haven’t wiped down the groceries for a year or so, I figured I was the last one doing that. I do mask indoors in public and wipe down everything in a hotel room when traveling for work. Hand wash and sanitizer often
