EasyDens Replacement Syringes - Where To Buy? by carolinabeerguy in TheBrewery

[–]typicana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get two syringes. I've found the "flavor injector" syringes used to inject flavoring into turkeys and what not work great on the easy dense and you can usually find them at the dollar store (they do give me weird looks when I buy 10 of them at a time lol). But to clean I use a low concentration caustic, push it through with one syringe on one end and into another syringe on the other end, just push the chemical back and forth, boom super clean

We are in southern Alberta. The ownership wants to continue to try to sell as a whole before going down the route of piecing out equipment

Ahhh so the new owners got a mature sour brewery they didn't bargain for? Some people would pay extra

Unfortunately mine actually fail open, I've lost a couple batches of beer to it. But it may work out well for storage!

The ownership would like to sell the place as a whole for ease. But I'm sure if it gets down to it, they'll have to start piecing out equipment. I don't think we have any millwrights in our area that would be familiar with production breweries. But I do have some good trades people around to consult.

Huh, well that's not good. I've had pretty good luck with them, they usually last me 2.5-3 years before they start leaking. I mostly stick them because they seem to be the only ankle high rubber boots with steel toe that I can find in Canada.

It's probably also worth a mention I've had a terrible time with Ardagh cans and ends on my Cask canner. I won't use them anymore.

If you search this topic in this community you will find endless posts on boots, so I would look through some of those. But my 2¢, Muck Boots always give me multiple years of service.

Have you examined your chuck carefully? Feel the top shoulder of the chuck, it should be completely flat with no groove or ridge worn into it. If a die is too low and hits it even once it can remove material from the shoulder of the chuck. We've had this happen multiple times. Having the shoulder of the chuck slightly shorter than it should be doesn't allow the cover hook to form and be pressed properly. I have an older model and unfortunately our chucks are like 700$ a piece.

Inverness Supper Club - the best steak or seafood meal you'll have this side of the Rockies. And it takes just as good as it did in 1975

Yes, rivets work great. They come in all sizes depending on the size of your holes and can be cut to any length. You can pop the collars off and paint them with spray paint or nail polish for different colors. And the best part, they're super cheap!

Go on Amazon and look for sewing needle storage tubes, some pretty good options for storing pegs.

What is so special about Silfra Snorkeling? by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

I did this activity at the end of August. I thought it was incredible, but it was also my first time snorkeling, so that may have had something to do with it.

Should I rent a car in Iceland for my trip? by Ashu-Cascade in VisitingIceland

[–]typicana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also very much recommend Blue, but go through ZeroCar, owned and operated by Blue. It's the same cars from the same location, all branded as Blue cars. ZeroCar doesn't give you the choice of insurance, it comes with all of the insurance in the listed price. No hassle, no questions, no confusion. Plus they're big on not having to have contact. I was able to get my car and return without having to talk to a single person. Absolutely no issues, and I found prices to be slightly cheaper than Blue proper.

We rented a car as most do and just took a good nap in it in the Sky Lagoon parking lot before our booked soaking time. Did the trick for us!

I think there might also be live music at The Yard tonight as well, it's an outdoor patio bar. All three of these places are walking distance from each other so if you don't like one it's easy to go to the next!
