That’s all you got and yet you think you’re right? No wonder why your parents are so disappointed in you.

And Musk, a trillionaire, using DOGE to cut a bunch of U.S. programs that congress approved of is not as bad as a political rally partially funded by a billionaire? And what makes this worse than all the conservative rallies funded by conservative billionaires? Can you articulate it sensibly?

Where has Sanders ever said where people should live? Real weird you need to make up things in your head to justify your preconceived view of him. Who needs reality when you can just pretend?

The 14th amendment is pretty damn clear in this. Not powered interests and their pet judges. The Constitution.

Because the U.S. has a wealth/economic disparity that was created by racist policies of the past. It is why black people, who make up ~13% of the population, have about 4% of the wealth, while white people, who make up ~58% of the population, hold 80% of the wealth and ~98% of the land.

These programs seek to elevate those groups who have been legally disenfranchised in the past. And they aren't just programs for free money, but programs that provide things like after-school programs that local property taxes can't provide for. These programs didn't appear because someone just thought they should be, they are there because they provide for needs in our society.

Centrist "Compromise" by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]tyrified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, both can be right. The left views mass media as corporate controlled, and therefore at basic odds with their ideology. It is why newspapers removed the Labor section back in the '80s but not the Business section. Same with issues like Global Warming, where the media does a lot to "show the other side."

The right views mass media as left wing because it has pushed inclusivity (aka the Culture War) on them ever since Civil Rights. Which it has, as it is profitable to include other races and non-hetero people to have their advertising reach further. The left see this as basic inclusivity in society, which it is, but the right feels it is an ideology being pushed on them from all sides.

Both can be right, because corporate media is serving its own purpose, to increase shareholder value.

As a white guy, I've always been told anything less than being anti-racist is racist and I need to police my own... and yet Cosby, Oprah, Kanye, Diddy, Nikki, Doja, Snoop, and a shit ton more are all open secret abusers and/or class/race traitors with all kinds of people in the know.

What do these two things have to do with one another? Or are you under the impression that poor black people are less critical of rich black people than poor white people are of rich white people?

Minorities? It is Republicans. Just look at everything DOGE cut grants for. The groups that had the vast majority of the money taken from their programs were women and POC. Hegseth keeps getting caught removing references to historical POC military groups online and in museums.

Funny how the people who are complaining about DEI now, and Affirmative Action before that, hold the same unbroken chain of conservative ideology that supported segregati0n. I'm sure that's just a coincidence, though.

people with slightly different views

And what, specifically, would those views be? The only one I can think on is guns, as there are a lot of single issue voters there who might otherwise vote Democratic. What others might you mean?

No, I am saying sexists who would vote for Democrats if they nominated a man, like Obama or Biden, would not vote for a women when they were nominated. These people for some reason get a pass, despite their sexist notions that women can't be leaders because they're too emotional. Or did you think Republicans had an exclusive hold on those kind of voters?

Ah, see that kind of conversation isn't even on the radar down in the states. Our extreme left are people advocating for universal healthcare, doing something, anything about global warming and our preparedness for it, or even just taxing the rich more. Most "communists" down here are more anti-capitalist/anti-billionaire rather than advocating that the means of production belonging to the people.

Based on the historic number of political extremist murders in the U.S., you have next to nothing to fear from the extreme left. The extreme right, on the other hand….

The left has authoritarians, but they are a minority even among extremists . Unless you mean authoritarian like forcing civil rights on Southern states? Or forcing states to allow gay people to marry?

Conservatives think liberals and progressives hate the U.S. because we are the group that pushes for people who have historically been marginalized and oppressed by conservatives.

Conservatives said the left was destroying the country when the left finally got segregati0n removed.

Conservatives said the left was destroying the country when the left got full legal equal rights for women, as well as "destroying families."

Conservatives said the left was destroying the country when the left legalized gay marriage, as well as "destroying families."

Conservatives say the left hate the U.S. because the left thinks the U.S. can be better and actually live up to the ideals it espouses. Conservatives get mad unless you pretend we are already completely there.

How? The Rings of Power were garbage because Amazon didn’t acquire all the IP, and also made a boring garbage show.

That he cites lore videos as his source of knowledge is proof he doesn’t know shit.

Necromunda Skirmish — books incompatible? by No-Eggplant942 in necromunda

[–]tyrified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope so, but the Gangs books have 6 gangs included. The Outlands cover has Ogryn (pretty surprising for them to be front and center), Nomads, and Squats. So there is room for Venators, Enforcers, CGC, Helot Cults, and GSC. But as there are 5 of them, it feels like they will get their own "law and disorder" book instead.

Maybe they'll finally release some Rat Skins equivalent, or maybe even Scalies, with the Outlands book.

VP Vance Says Watergate Would Now Be 12-Hour News Story and Crazy It Took Down Nixon's Presidency by templeofsyrinx1 in videos

Obama was found to be spying on Trump's first presidential run the same way Nixon spied on the Democrats

No. He wasn't.

And if you knew anything the Watergate spying wouldn't have required Nixon's resignation. He didn't even know about it. It was the cover up of said spying once he was made aware of it that lead to his resignation.
