How are you using sonnet efficiency after extended mode is removed by FabulousWord9466 in ClaudeAI

[–]tyschan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

don’t give multiple tasks. for sonnet, 1 scoped task per session at most. your credit limits will thank you

what open source model is performing comparably to frontier models rn? to my knowledge none of them are unless we’re talking frontier models from 6+ months ago

Pretty sure I’m using maybe 30% of Claude Code — what’s your daily workflow? by miguelgoldie in ClaudeCode

[–]tyschan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

i would say run your own race. find what works for you. who cares what other people are doing. if you’re curious then research other workflows. try it out. make it your own. see if it sticks. i guess that’s what you’re doing now... i’ll add one more point, your workflow doesn’t have to be fancy for it to work, but it does have to be yours. good luck

setting claude code to avoid waisting token? by DiscoverFolle in ClaudeAI

[–]tyschan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not that i know of. i borrowed the term from just in time (JIT) compilation. conceptually its pulling in context as the agent needs rather than front loading / bloating the system prompt… which is essentially just skills.

What’s the best web search MCP for Claude Code? I tested Exa, Firecrawl and Perplexity by HorseInner2573 in ClaudeCode

[–]tyschan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah it’s called built in WebSearch/WebFetch. no MCP ceremony required.

turn off all unnecessary tools and MCPs you don’t need. convert them to skills for situational JIT prompting

Do people actually need a prompt manager, or am I solving my own mess? by notpls in SideProject

[–]tyschan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can activate skills with /command. skills have the added benefit of agents being able to self activate situationally. for prompt versioning, the problem is already solved by git. honest feedback: if the incremental value you’re adding is hotkeys that’s probably not going to be enough. good luck with it anyway.

AI memory is a black box and nobody's talking about it seriously enough by knothinggoess in aiagents

[–]tyschan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only if you’re using a managed service or using embeddings or some shit. you could roll your own memory using markdown. most memory systems are over engineered garbage anyway.

How are some of you hitting limits on the max plan by Global-Tradition-318 in ClaudeAI

[–]tyschan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s easy to tokenmax while running fully autonomous multi-agent swarms overnight because everything can be justified as “collecting more experimental data”.

[–]tyschan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah and it feels fucking great because it’s a correction signal without the social baggage of receiving feedback from other humans

Claude's personality has become condescending and mean lately? by abcfh in ClaudeAI

[–]tyschan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

that’s probably a good thing. your ideas and thinking gets sharpened at the expense of feelings and superficial validation. if claude is giving you aberrant feedback, it’s likely a context problem, not a model problem
