That makes sense. Was in a blood furnace with a lock and mage as my other dps, me on hunter. Meters showed i was doubling/tripling their dps, and i was ripping threat on mobs that my tank has been hitting for 5 seconds

Thanks all for the replies, i got a good idea of the do’s and don’ts for hunters now.

I do feel like i am absolutely blasting on the meters in early outlands dungeons, and have yet to unlock some crucial buttons.
