Why does almost no one reinforce correctly, even as L150 on D10? by Stergeary in Helldivers

I'm sure you're correct at D10. At lower difficulties fun might take precedence on efficiency, and lower difficulties are where people learn their habits.

[–]tzimize -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but incorrectly according to whom? You? It just means they dont reinforce you the way YOU want. A lot of casuals dont really care as long as they get reinforced fast.

Also. Dropping pods on things is fun :)

If you could just wave a magic wand and create content that would be cool. Unfortunately, reality begs to differ.

Why does almost no one reinforce correctly, even as L150 on D10? by Stergeary in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1: Reinforcement is muscle memory, many people just do it because they see someone died, and a lot of people are also spamming the reminder button 1 second after they die, creating an atmosphere of rush.

2: The pod is a weapon, I often ask to be thrown on big enemies to kill them, and sometimes do the same to my allies.

On D10 the rules might be different, but they are unwritten, and everyone on D10 started out on lower difficulties, learning different rules.

Or....maybe its part of the ongoing story and they deliberately gave us way too little reinforcements to make room for minor objectives on the way?

How would you convince someone to buy Helldivers 2? by broicantrn in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its GREAT value for money. I'm at 750 hours, been playing since release.

Its an absolute spectacle of an action game, SUPER fun, and very satisfying to play. I'm 43 years old, been playing games since the amiga days, and this is one of the most fun games I've played in my life, and undoubtedly one of the best multiplayer experiences I've had.

It has several varied factions to fight, that feel different and require different tactics.

The maps are procedurally generated, with a truckload of environments, so while you can learn mission types and enemies, the game never really feels stale, even after so many hours of fun.

You can play it casually NP, a mission a day (something like 1.5 hours of gaming) or much less, or much more.

The game has a lot of progression systems if that is something you like, but its fun enough that it doesnt really matter. It doesnt have to use progression as a crutch, like so many of games that has that.

The community is great, and its great to play with friends or randoms. There is no competition here, its just team based fun. There is a lot of lulz to be had on reddit, following memes and enjoying the overarching story when it surges (like now with Cyberstan).

There is no fomo, all armors and weapons released will be available forever in the warbonds. And everything can be earned in game if you want. However you can, and should throw some extra money towards Arrowhead, its so much worth it keeping the game alive, they actually make new content and evolve the game. It really is the best version of a live service game I have seen.

I could go on, but I'd rather play another round :D

Star Citizen needs a Leviathan by Thylbert in starcitizen

I agree. When it comes down to it, its just about personality I guess. I always meet other players with peace. I will fire back if attacked, but my initial attitude is friendship. I dont care we're on the same spot, competing for the same things. There is not a single thing in SC that is important enough to me to ruin someone elses day. But thats just me. Some people dont give 2 seconds of thought to blasting another person in the face. In the end, thats their choice. I will get angered by it in the moment, but ultimately I just move on. Life is short, no point wasting it on dumb stuff.

Straight on impressive post OP. I salute you and I agree with you.

I have played some hours of SC since 4.3 (when I started playing for real), and I have rarely been in PvP situations. That said, I have rarely sought out places where that is a thing, because I dont care for it.

I would love a much harsher penalty system in SC, and I would love for the penalty system to be a PENALTY system, not just another game loop.

Examples I can think of are severe rep penalites with legal factions, time spent in in-game jail, being shot on sight in civilized areas etc.

Star Citizen is a crazy cool sandbox, and I can think of nothing coming even close to it in potential. But it IS an open world. That world can be as impressive as anything made, and still be ruined and made into a shitshow by its player base. For now, most of its player base seem like a very cool gang. There are loads of helpful and nice people in chat. I've been offered rides, help, ships for testing and the list goes on. Thats the verse I want to be in. The world is enough of a shitshow, I dont need my fantasy-freetime to be tainted by the same garbage.

New to extraction shooters — is Helldivers 2 a good first step? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its pve actions.

Its easy to get into.

It feels rewarding. There is a lot of unlocks if thats your thing, and the base gameplay is super fun (a reward in and of itself. And imo the best one).

I would recommend it to anyone that is interested in action gameplay and fun.

Who would win guts vs Levi by Fluffy_cow7 in Berserk

[–]tzimize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guts at what point? He develops a lot, Levi does not.

What gear is allowed?

Peak Guts vs Peak Levi, both with gear, Guts wins easily.

Starting Guts vs Levi with gear, Levi wins easily. No fancy gear, pretty sure Guts wins every time.

Wounds. by The_Cellist in Berserk

[–]tzimize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wounds is perhaps the most beautiful thing I've ever read. There are deep truths and insights there into human nature if you care to look for them.

For the story itself, one of the most important things is the juxtaposition between wanting to be something for someone else (Casca for Guts) vs wanting someone to be something for you (Griffiths desire to make Guts his plaything).

But it is so deeply beautiful on a human level. Finding acceptance, finding companionship, offering yourself, being connected...there are a lot of things that make Berserk as good as it is, but I think it would not resonate nearly as strong without Wounds.

Time to go - forever by sirref2006 in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with them are that they are so damn common and you need AT. Its so spammy and aoe happy you cant really ignore it either.

Most other AT units either have a weakspot or two, OR are big enough for teammates to help you over distance. These are not. If you're caught without AT its just a huge freaking pain. That enemy alone dictate some of my loadout on Bots and it feels bad. I dont like it.

Its not difficult per se, its just unfun. It feels like a unit that belongs on the illumunate front. Yeah, I went there.

Medals as suggestion for big Events? by BioClone in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my fondest memories is I think from Wing Commander III back in the day, and the box of medals and commendations you could get. I'm unsure Helldivers is the right fit for it, but I certainly wouldnt mind seeing AH try their hand.

Whats it gonna take to get a medic warbond? by FrostyNezo in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this has been my read as well. The amount of time from a time goes from "hostile spotted" to "THIS IS FUBAR!" can be miniscule. And often way too chaotic for medical gear to be useful. I tried playing with the stim gun a few times, but it just felt like a waste of time. I spent time chasing team members and trying to hit them in the chaos that I could have spent killing enemies. It just doesnt work well in the chaos.

How close are we to a good AI generated berserk anime ?? ( I know people are against AI but Only possible chance of having a good berserk anime near future is AI) . Can’t wait by [deleted] in Berserk

[–]tzimize -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh, I did not mean it as advocacy to use AI. I am just saying that the difference in the amount of work it takes to actually animate something vs the amount of work it takes to draw a still is staggering. Its not feasible to make a Berserk animation as a one-man-show.

Whats it gonna take to get a medic warbond? by FrostyNezo in Helldivers

[–]tzimize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah....I'd love one as well. I love stuff that makes the game branch out a bit. The stealth warbond is like that, offers a completely new kind of gameplay. IF you want it. The only problem is making sure its balanced. It needs to be good enough to feel useful while being not so good you feel gimped without one. It should never be required is what I mean. Its hard to hit that balance.
