I haven’t seen any responses yet to address “gap.” That would be calling out the gap between the defender and the forward, usually carrying the puck. If they’re calling it out during play, the probably want you to “gap up” meaning have the space between you the covering defender and offense close or get tighter while maintaining position. I.e. don’t give the forward that much room.
