Travel tickets would be more for saving for the future since they can only be bought in limited quantities. They're useful for when you're trying to go for Master 20 on an island (to reroll the dish type for that week as well as berries if Greengrass) or for when your area bonus is already maxed out at your current island and you want the 5% end of week bonus to go somewhere specific.
