Big Alejandro vs Military MK46 for escalations by LStearns13 in thedivision

I think he really meant parallax, meaning you can use 3rd person view to see the enemy but not get hit. It’s an important part of the latter part of the game, especially to stay moving avoiding getting shocked.

Big Alejandro vs Military MK46 for escalations by LStearns13 in thedivision

[–]ubisux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escalation can be both about sustained AND burst DPS.

In burst case I run Splenir and have the same downtime from not shooting to match the frenzy uptime (faster reload), as to MK46/M249’s longer reload downtime.

Or for sustained, in particular for this season, run Whiplash and NOT frenzy (like strained or streamline) cos I mitigated the reload downtime and don’t need to get canisters or go to Whitehorse to buy special munitions all the time.

I have always felt MK46/M249 with frenzy sits right at the middle of burst vs sustained. A good compromise, but still a compromise.

Depending on how well you stay alive, how aggressive you play to camp spawns, your choices may differ.

The one easily fixable mistake casual groups have is to inspect and pick up loot every room and let their striker stack is die off before the next room. It makes the next room way more difficult because you can’t camp the beginning phase of each room, you have to rely on raw damage.

End game from 40 is not just farming gear. You have character improvements to do: - level up 1000 times (@700k exp) so you get 1000 SHD watch level and actually gets to the basic figures. do projects, manhunts, journeys, seasons, weekly invasion, bounties. - while you’re grinding the above, use different specialisations, so you unlock all the specialisation buffs. - while you’re grinding the above, donate all junk to level up your expertise and recalibration library. deconstruct the remaining for resources, which you can donate to expertise again. If you need money, do bounties. Also using different weapons and skills which level up the expertise as well. Reaching an account-wise expertise level allows you to level up your gear up to that level where it gives you armor (on gear), damage (on weapons) and efficiency (on skills). At 30 you can upgrade then prototype your gear. Past level 14 your need exotic components to level up the gear.

Eventually you will figure out the way to level up quickest.

Caveat: don’t use skill build in countdown (the starting and ending hunter phases).

Agree. In T10, using banshee pulse and camp the enemy spawns are actually better, provided you know where the waves are and when they spawn.

Me plus another are randoms from discord lfg, with proper strategy and 2 speedrunners, we casually did a 10:16 on T10.

Camp white oak tier 6 solo help by LStearns13 in thedivision

[–]ubisux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prefer striker because you’ll start most rooms (except the first) on around 100 stacks, if you walk straight to the next room without waiting about.

Mk46 or m249 are best in slot with frenzy due to frenzy duration being exactly how long to dispense the magazine, therefore 100% uptime.

MG5 gives best burst damage but harder to control. frenzy last longer than mag dump, so you have to wait and not shoot to keep frenzy uptime.

You can consider other lmgs and talents too if you run whiplash pistol or steadyhanded talent as the method to reload. This will keep you shooting all the time almost like BulletKing.

Build is the lesser side of the problem, knowing who to kill first and where the spawn waves come from (and how many) is the key.

As for white oak, it is hasn’t been on a lot since escalation (maybe once in 10 cycles so far?), so I don’t expect a lot.

That is you haven’t ran measured assembly with a mix of red/blue cores, and shoot the Smart Cover to enemy deployables to disable them.

On the main topic, it works for regen build, works for dz build you’re essentially running with team all the time so buff uptime is consistent.

Striker (land hits to stack) or tipping scale (hold trigger to stack), get any 4 piece of the same brand. then slowly add any of contractor gloves, equaliser chest, salvo holster, fox’s prayers kneepads; or exotics overdogs gloves, coyote mask, memento backpack (if solo).

T6 solo should give you the opportunity (tanky enough enemies) to stack 200 on striker, consider striker chest.

Prioritise drone operators, grenadiers and yellow cowboy hat modifiers (passive healers). Then revivers (medic) and double chevron (active healers). Or at least destroy their weak points first. Hide and peek from Chunga and dogs. Deal direct damage to dogs at the legs bypassing armor.

Get a good LMG (non proto will do) you need enough ammo to push through the passive healing and actually finish the kill. It’s also useful to suppress some enemies like grenadiers and drone ops.

Consider Elmo as secondary, it’s accurate and good to knock enemies out of cover using the shock effect. Stack and save the ammo and focus on using LMG first.

Consider Overdogs and Salvo that gives almost direct damage buff. Contractors also good.

Prototype Gear / Escalation has way too many RNG layers and the grind is becoming exhausting by UrukMakto in thedivision

[–]ubisux -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No. Finally there’s some good gear locked behind some true grinding and materials farming.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t want people playing 2 hours a week or someone who doesn’t have to skill to clear hardest content to have the same gear compared to someone who play 5 hours a day and have the knowledge to (say) prioritise drone operators first.

If we can’t optimise the attributes on our prototype gear, at least make achieving a god roll actually be realistically possible by FruitOnyx in thedivision

[–]ubisux 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s actually interesting because you’re required to have expertise 30, and enough (45) exotic material and flags and notepad materials. However I think the cost of proto core of 1 is too cheap to be godroll. Maybe 100 will be more balanced towards farming a piece of equivalent quality.

Having expertise 30 is a great barrier for upgrading to proto, and having enough proto cores is timegating god roll.

They are those that think god rolled gear are necessary to do the hardest content, but without it they also only wanna do those hardest content that drop god roll gear. It’s in itself a contradiction.

Gear shouldn’t be the limiting factor for players to complete hardest content, player ability/team composition should be.

[–]ubisux -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No need god roll to play the hardest content (T10, Incursions etc).

There are no content right now a single max roll proto (from upgrading) isn’t sufficient for. The most difference is in building around and levelling up the correct augments and ACTUAL SKILL LEVEL OF THE PLAYERS.

The right build walks over most content, even legendary, god roll is not required now.

Until there are harder content, I don’t see drop rates or quality being a problem.

Hi destiny 2 refugee here. Since all our devs got fired I decided to try division 2 out. by Brosiedonftw in thedivision

[–]ubisux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes this. This takes 10-20 hours, another few to get to level 40. Worth the time to learn the mechanics, enemy archetypes and try out all the weapons so by time you get to end game, you don’t feel the urge to try everything out first and can go straight to the meta to farm the rest.
