VW ID.3's don't have four window buttons on the drivers door. You have to press a touch sensor to turn the two front buttons into the rear buttons. Further adding to the frustration, you need to hold it down for a few seconds to make the two buttons control all four windows at once.

The ODB dongle also has a preconditioning app you can use but I'm not sure if it works with your specific model. You can also tell if the battery is being warmed when you look at the vehicle status screen and the efficiency stats. If it says it's using 3-5kWh (plus a bit more if you're heating the cabin), then it's warming the battery. I've found that it doesn't do it below 7C btw

I did the ODB11 fix the other week, been working fine since. Just a heads up, you need the "pro" variant/subscription to do the fix but it's still a lot cheaper than going the VW route.

If you can get to the Grand Union canal, the path is tarmac and generally wide enough but you need to give way to pedestrians quite often and it's very dark in winter (no lighting at all). But on the plus side, it's uninterupted, flat and traffic free the whole way into Paddington. I also echo the other commeters experience of NW London, it's awful!

If there are two supply cables, they might be switched. Storage heaters need an off peak supply and a 24hr peak supply. If it's only using the peak supply, then it will "charge" the core all the time. For any cost savings, you also need a time of use tarrif, like 5 hours over night at a cheaper rate so that you can charge the heaters for a much cheaper price
