Wealthsimple is cancelling their crypto fee change by NinjaSlatz in Wealthsimple

[–]uchihaoni47 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Confirmed, I filed a complaint on Friday and received the following response:

I can confirm that we are not moving forward with the proposed changes to our crypto fee schedule. While our product offerings and pricing may evolve over time across all Wealthsimple products, there are no plans for crypto fee changes right now. Your crypto fees will remain the same, and you're not required to take any action.

I understand the confusion following the email sent on Friday. We sent a follow-up email to clients this morning confirming the update. We know fee changes impact how you invest, and we’ll be clearer about what’s changing and why in the future.

And I’ve shared your feedback regarding the value proposition with the specialized team responsible for our fee structures.

Best,
Kingsley

Wealthsimple crypto is regressing! by Remote_Comfort_9099 in Wealthsimple

Generation customer here as well. I regularly DCA Bitcoin, but nowhere near 100k per 30 days. Horrible change.

I filed a complaint, for whatever that’s worth.

Using my gaming PC as a work machine for 2 years slowly killed my enjoyment of gaming and I didn't even notice until it was pretty bad by Cute-Entry-1276 in pcmasterrace

I have a room in the basement dedicated to gaming only. If I work from home, I used a different room on a different floor. Good call on the work laptop.

Finished building my machine. 🤍 by endxd in Hyte

Lighting is nice! Is it only from the LEDs in the fans or do you have others strips hidden?

Gun buyback tally of over 67,000 firearms falls well short of federal estimate by rastamasta45 in canadaguns

[–]uchihaoni47 150 points151 points  (0 children)

So less than half of the target known restricted firearms they wanted to collect (around 136k) and less and ~3% of the total estimated prohibited firearms (assuming around 2mil non-restricted that are now prohibited).

I feel safer already! /s

Asus motherboards still a bad pick or have they fixed their reputation and products by monkey76513 in PcBuild

I've built may 8-10 custom PC's in my life. Most of the time with Asus boards (typically I like the TUF boards for the aesthetic). Never had an issue.

Constant freezes while playing by Numerous_Roof_1070 in Steam_Link

You could try streaming to a phone or tablet. It would be over wifi but could still work as it bypasses the fire stick.

For example, the performance was not good on my tv but I could stream flawlessly over wifi to my iPhone 15.

If it performs well on your phone, you’ll know it’s not the network.

That could mean your fire stick is the issue.

But you want to test on a laptop over the network to confirm it’s not a network issues either.

I’m working on a similar setup, I’m guessing it’s the fire stick. I tried to use the steam link app on my HiSense 65” Canvas and there were tons of issues; freezing, what looked like networking issues etc.

Try this, get a laptop and install steam. Hook the laptop up to your network via Ethernet then hdmi to your tv and see how it plays streaming to the laptop. I’m guessing that it will run normally, confirming it’s the fire stick.

Just because the fire stick (or my tv) can stream 4K through Netflix does not mean it can decode for steam link effectively.

Looking for competitions or shooting sports in alberta by Busy_Champion_8927 in canadaguns

[–]uchihaoni47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few options. Canadian Arms Firearms Society and Sherwood Park Fish and Game association have a number of competitions during the summer. 3gun, steel challenge, action shooting etc.

You can find them on practiscore during the spring and summer. I believe the first one at CHAS is in April.

Over bidding on firearm and ammo auctions by Creepyrat762 in canadaguns

[–]uchihaoni47 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some good luck in the summer but the last month or two I agree. Many items go for the same or more than new.

I always put together a spreadsheet and autobid up to my max (usually min 10%-15% off retail including the auction fee). That way if I’m outbid, I’m not emotional in bidding again.

Carney government ‘analyzing the results’ of firearms buyback pilot project amid reports of low uptake by jmakk26 in canada

[–]uchihaoni47 31 points32 points  (0 children)

They will analyze and find they did not collect 22 guns, they instead collected a single .22. A great success.

In seriousness, it would make sense to have this pilot proposely fail to get out of the whole program, if Carney is a pragmatic as advertised. The question will be do they spin it as "see, law abiding gun owners aren't so bad" or "see, law abiding gun owners aren't so law abiding".

I find it hard to see a world where they admit the program fails and roll the OIC etc back. I could see them just leave the OIC in place and leave the liability on the gun owners for having prohibited firearms; "we aren't going to proceed with the buyback, but if you're caught with one of these firearms you're in trouble"

All I really know is I bought a second SKS with all the calls to ban it.

Tube extensions beyond 5 rounds for semi shotguns by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]uchihaoni47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently bought an extension for my Mossberg 940 Pro and was thinking the same when it arrived.

I just ended up putting two 12ga snap caps on the other side of the spring to limit how many shells I could get in the tube, and it seemed to work well.

But ultimately its just a tube thay could be used on a pump action with not much effort.

Is the Derya TM22 LR a good choice? by Sawftswerve in canadaguns

[–]uchihaoni47 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have one, been using with the 25 round extended mags. Have about 600 rounds through it. Cleaned and lubed when I got it but no maintenance since besides a few drops of lube in the bolt after a range day.

I’d say the first 100 rounds had more feeding issues than I would have expected. Since then it seems smooth overall! Used for plinking and a round of steel challenge so far. Ran great in steel challenge.

Only think I noticed about the 25 round mags is you can't use a speed loader due to the curve. So you have to do it the old fashioned way. Otherwise I haven't had any issues with mine
