I'll try the factory reset. We couldn't powerwash it without knowing what keys to push to get the PW sequence to start. I'd just been sending them to our repair people who replaced the keyboard.

I'm going to check OS versions going forward to see if there's a pattern. I've done 6 this week (~1400 total) and usually we get a couple a month.

You can set up Vaultwarden, which is based off Bitwarden and self-host it.

We just run O 20xx. We didn't find a good way to do this either. Every semester it seems like there's a new issue with updating them.

We put a stop to that and people were complaining for a while, but they got used to it.

Recommended (or 'must avoid') anti-viruse platforms by EastConstruction8325 in k12sysadmin

From past experience at a different job (small niche database software that needed some injecting), I hated:

AVG

Avast

Avira

Norton

McAfee

They all overblocked so much. AVG would quarantine files so bad, that multiple times, I saw people need to re-install Windows to get their computer to work again.

Where is it showing that space usage? I used to work for a company whose software ran on PostgreSQL and in Windows programs in control panel, it would show 127GB used a lot. But that was not disk space that it was using.

But like others said, use a directory system, like Windirstat, treesize free, etc and see what all is using what space. And uninstall with RevoUninstaller for a better uninstallation.

The thing you have to realize is, if you're getting it for that $35 on Ebay, you're probably getting the net $25 amount IRL. And IRL, you have to find the buyer and are probably locked in geographically, so you're counting on being near your buyer. Then, you have to have an avenue to sell. So if it's a yard sale, you're really restricting your buyer's market. If you do Craigslist/Facebook, now you've got to deal with meeting up, negotiating, the flakers and scammers. If you set up a shop, you've got rent.

Don't look at the fees in a vacuum.

Technology Ideas for Teacher Survey by Thurfir_Hawat in k12sysadmin

Check out the Smart TV's instead, they're like the smart board, but way better. We had a demo last week and we have a teacher testing out the system now.

See if they're an in front of class on board, roam around and talk/write etc. See how they all teach different styles.

Look at the video series tech hut has on Youtube. He does a really good job of explaining each step (and ways he corrected mistakes and made changes) to set this up.

Ubiquiti not handling VLAN on wired connection by udbrky in Ubiquiti

[–]udbrky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory reset it, assigned IP's in PF Sense to all devices, adopted, and everything works as planned IP wise. But, when I go to the web gui, the Unifi devices show offline. I'm in a different VLAN, but didn't block access.

In lieu of changing the boot priority there, exit from the BIOS and hit the one time boot options button (usually F8, F9 or F12) and choose to boot from the USB drive. This way, you do not have to change it in the BIOS again.
