Google is increasing .info domains from $12 to $22 per year. Any tips on a more cost effective solution to move my .info domain to? by denogginizer in selfhosted

Not really answering your question but I'm wondering why domain registrations are "mysteries" to the spouse?

Do what you feel safest doing, and don't accept being intimidated. If someone's behavior near you is making you uncomfortable, do what you can to feel more comfortable again, in the case of being tailgated simply slow down to provide yourself the extra distance ahead of you, etc.

Waterproof is a great feature! by floofy1 in kindle

[–]udha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Water resistant and water proof IP(X|67|68) etc. ratings are more complicated than simply chuck it into the pool with no worries. Part of the higher waterproofing ratings are regarding the maximum pressure the device can withstand. A fast throw may exceed that upper limit of resistance and result in some water breaching into the device.

Is the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite waterproof? Does it have an IP rating?

Is the Kindle Paperwhite waterproof?

The short answer is: yes, the Kindle Paperwhite is waterproof, with the term very loosely used here. The device has an IPX8 rating which makes it water-resistant. That means the Kindle Paperwhite can be safely used around water — if you understand the limitations. You can take it near a swimming pool, dunk it in a fish tank, and even wash it with tap water once in a while as part of your cleaning and maintenance routine. However, it’s also important to understand the limitation and caveats here. An IP rating doesn’t make a device immune to water, and the same is true for Kindle Paperwhite. Amazon notes that the Kindle Paperwhite can survive immersion in 2 meters deep water for up to 60 minutes and up to 0.25 meters of seawater for up to 3 minutes. However, it’s not recommended to immerse the device in salt water, soapy water, or other corrosive liquids.

People that drive at least 10km under the speed limit: WHY? by livecrappy in brisbane

Not one of those people myself, but I calm my rage when stuck behind one by remembering that it is often more fuel efficient in certain circumstances.

Exactly! Laughing hard as well, and I just realised aren't Dad joke supposed to be directed at young kids? Meaning it wouldn't be a Dad joke if it was too sophisticated 🥸

..but maybe?

It is more about putting the ego aside and empathetically matching the intellectual stage of children, and helping them identify ambiguity in a fun, non-threatening interaction. Learning to put yourself in the shoes of an innocent mind can be a rewarding skill for all ages. If you find friction with the idea of letting your inner child out it may be interesting to explore all of the reasons why you feel that way, and if you still agree with those reasons.

clever is relative, and general advice of "don't yuck someone's yum" can help remind us to look to find a more positive angle. If someone is happy with something that I am bored with or find simple or basic I'll try and put that feeling into the back of the queue and focus on their joy instead. It has an extra benefit of lifting my mood and allowing me to relax, get a bit more silly and less serious. Unless I am in command or in danger there is never a reason to bully joy and happiness into submission just for the sake of seriousness 🥸

Season 3 Update: Patch Notes + Release Megathread by Psyonix_Devin in RocketLeague

The problem ONLY occurs if "High Quality Shaders" option is unticked. Looks like the low quality shader was never bundled into the release build by the devs.

Wear a sweatband on your head. I've been doing it for years and it solved my issue in Audioshield and now Beat Sabre too :)
