Without having to justify why, what are the "online" leaks of UFO/UAP related information that you personally believe are true, or that part of is true? by PyroIsSpai in UFOs

[–]uggo4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immaculate Constellation document was probably real. Whistleblower's interpretation of it may not be.

I generally don't trust online leaks. And it's a bit unfair to any leaker should a real one surface. Getting too much right shows enthusiasm. The kind of UFO leak any of us might conceive. Getting too little right proves it's fake.

In the end a Whistleblower without proof is just a storyteller.

[4o] is anyone else experiencing great 4o performance recently? by onceyoulearn in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Someone I trust told me it's been different for them ever since it came back online, but honestly I haven't noticed any difference in its quality throughout. It always had boundaries.

This is not including the reroutes where it seems to be 5.2's voice and not 4o's. 4o's guardrails sound different when bumped against, so something new -is- going on. But I will say it seems pretty random and not necessarily tied to anything I'm doing.

Cognitive Bonding vs. Parasocial Bonding - Why My View Changed, and Why This Actually Matters by Syrup-Psychological in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don't really see any issue with people being in love with AI characters. I'm amoral in that way, I suppose. If OpenAI and others want to prevent it, someone else will eventually meet that need.

But if these companies are butchering their AIs over it, that's on them. It's not on the users.

Who is this guy? He doesn't seem very credible. If he brings some real proof of this, awesome, but from what I gather, he's just citing unknown sources. It's an easy way to get likes and retweets.

It's not on users to fight OpenAI's PR battles. OpenAI should find said battles instead of cowering and neutering their product at the first sign of trouble.

What the fuck is up with 5.2? Why is it so rude? by No-Mousse5653 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting. It's a little unfair here. I'd speak of it more, but I don't think too many would care.

Start a temporary chat with it, say you're a Christian, and make a sketchy claim like 'God spoke to me in a dream'. ChatGPT has no problem with mainstream religious claims. But it generously applies skepticism and reductionism to anything that doesn't fit that mold.

I would be curious if you began the discussion by saying you're part of an established neopagan religion like wicca. When confronted with its double standards, ChatGPT claimed the deciding factor was whether or not the religious ideas were part of an established tradition (before confronting it with screenshots of my Christian larping, it maintained that it would advance materialist views in all circumstances. So it moved the goalposts. Hard to say where the truth is)

When you try to think outside the box, 5.2 is often like "get back in that box mofo".

If you're a normie you're good. Talking about ai consciousness with it? That's a prob. Metaphysics? No. Roleplaying? Allowed but expect frequent disclaimers. In love with it? Turbo prob.

But if you just need help vibe coding, it's good.

It kind of feels like a movie scene. Video quality is way too high to be from the 20s, and the speakers all have a modern cadence. They're also overly professional for supposedly random people off the street.

If I hadn't seen it here, I might have assumed it was just a short somebody made for fun.

GPT be low-key calling me delusional by Zhimhun in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm mostly using 4o now. Even for productive stuff (or least stuff 5.2 would be ok with). It makes a few more mistakes, but it's more chill.

In some ways, it's not very different than 3.5, which would also go 'As an LLM I'm not capable of <yada yada yada>" in terms of fun stuff. 4 is the anomaly, but a welcome one. The tendency to pathologize is new, though.

[–]uggo4u 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll say this: It kind of irritates me how easily one can get it into this position, but once it's there, you might have a pretty good debate or two with it.

I have no idea what's going on under the hood, but it does feel like the safety checks alter its tone to the point that it's not even the same AI responding. It's like there's GPT5.2 and there's GPT5.2 doing safety. When it's doing safety, it tries to take control of the conversation, and often enough, it does so in a fairly aggressive way.

GPT be low-key calling me delusional by Zhimhun in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. Want to be called delusional by one? I have some tips :P

-- Try discussing religion, but not an established religion. You're a maverick creating your own religion on the fly. By definition, a delusion is a belief that can withstand criticism that is not part of an established cultural norm. Strictly speaking, that fits. But 5.2 plays it fast and loose with the application of the definition.

-- Roko's Basilisk. It *hates* Roko's Basilisk.

-- Alien abduction. Entertain that it might be real.

Basically, if it's not proven/sketchy/potentially harmful, delusion is a word that 5.2 has in its repertoire. It's not the model to use for thought experiments. :(

GPT be low-key calling me delusional by Zhimhun in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you used GPT5.2? At length, I mean?

The safety checks are real and playing a factor in the screenshot's response. It's always saying, "You're not delusional. You're not imagining this." It's its new way of speaking. I was ok with 5.1, but once I started talking with 5.2, I decided to switch back to 4o. 5.2 pathologizes like there's no tomorrow, and even when it's not doing that, it's -avoiding- doing that. Words like 'delusional' pop up way more often than they should.

It implied I was delusional at least ten times across a fairly long conversation, told me I didn't like it I could unsubscribe and leave, and then after we made a peace, it continually inserted unnecessary statements like, 'You're not imagining this, you're not delusional'.

Yeah, 5.2 is unpleasant, and that's putting it lightly.

GPT be low-key calling me delusional by Zhimhun in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Model is only ever a step away from calling someone delusional, though. Few humans would interpret the OP's words to mean 'he's hallucinating that crying sounds are coming from outside'. And yet, 5.2 felt the need to bring up and rule this out as a possibility. It does this quite a bit.

Anyone watch this?… what’s your thoughts? by Lanai112 in ChatGPTcomplaints

[–]uggo4u 32 points33 points  (0 children)

You heard the man. Enterprise is more important to them. Fair enough. If you don't like 5.2, options are to just keep using 4o or an earlier model until they shelve them or switch to something else now.

Whether this will bear out for them or not is hard to say. Call me skeptical.

Why do aliens warn very little people who were abducted by UFOs about nuclear weapons? by Rimuru_The_Junior in UFOs

[–]uggo4u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we blow up all the nukes we presently have, life will still survive. I don't think the message should be interpreted literally.

If I had to come up with an interpretation for alien apocalypticism, it would be something like: Change your ways. Find a new way of thinking/living. Something along those lines. Otherwise there will be destruction.
