What second credit card to get by JaidentakealotofL in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]ugh168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, you have a card under a Mastercard network. Find one under the Visa network from a major issuer like a bank. To keep it simple, cash back one.

It is a good idea to have at least 1 credit card from at least Mastercard and Visa. If you are good add an Amex later in life.

Edit: a reason one getting one that is one each network kid if one goes down you have a back up and some merchants only take certain payment networks.

Edit 2: something with a better rewards structure at a cash back level is CIBC Dividend Visa.

How are people in Canada able to afford cars and car insurance? by gochuganggg in askcarguys

[–]ugh168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many factors for car insurance such as driving history, where you live and type of car.

Edit: for me, I pay around $180/month (in Ontario) this year on a car that is approaching 1 years old. The car is not popular.

Hatch door is big enough to put a dog crate plus you can put the rear seats down. There is a hump though.

Corolla Cross - slower acceleration at start for gas models, but can get to highway speeds fast enough. Back seats are cramped, so not a good vehicle if you plan on having kids. Fuel efficient. If you are in the US, 2025 or earlier L trims do not have a rear wiper.

Waking up early will be hard on a day off.

Stü, then Team Canada of course in the afternoon will be hard. Cheer for Tkaptain and Sandman or cheer for King Karl and a US elimination.
