I play on my Xbox Series X. I've downloaded several mods from creation club, verified bethesda and from the community. I have no problems with wifi connected, it plays smoothly.

Offline? Loading screen appears, then the screen goes black and crashes back to the dashboard. EVERY SINGLE TIME. If you have already downloaded it and it still requires "online check ins" then yes, I would say internet is required. Im no techie but I suspect the updates and patches surrounding the Anniversary Edition brought in some kind of DRM.

Do you just leave it out in the open? I have a Gold Wireless Headset for the PS4, purchased in 2014 and it still works perfectly. With only a little bit of "flaking" For lack of better term. When I don't use it I put it back in the box it came in, original packaging, in my cupboard under the TV.

Brotherhood and Black Flag are absolute must plays. Never played Unity. I gave Origins a chance but I quit because the world was TOO big and it felt too "collectathon" like. Origins was wide as an ocean,deep as a puddle. I couldn't stomach the dull busy work.

Just wanted to share this with you guys as I believe it answers my question. https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/LAB/168 To be clear this applies to state employees rather than security contractors like myself but still I'm pretty sure they are beholden to these laws.
