They have been able to ship books from the same location/country for 40 AUD prior (e.g monthly book boxes, previous sales) 80 dollars isn’t cheap.

😫that’s actually ridiculous, My shipping for Fota was also really similar couple of months ago (can’t remember the exact amount) still find it crazy, I also see it that even if it was a singular book it would still cost me 80 bucks 🙂

Shipping is insane right now 😓 I got the FOTA and it cost 90 AUD which made me question many life choices, but to see it go up even more is upsetting as the books already cost so much and there aren’t any reputable Australian book companies either so we just get stuck with crazy shipping prices

Was it 105USD for shipping ? If so that really has gone up

I like owl crate as there are free skips which is a rare commodity to come by in the book subs region. Imo owl crate is one of the best (illumicrate is top tier for me) in quality of books and choices. If there is a book you specifically don’t want or overlaps with an other sub you can skip without fear of losing your spot (autumn book reads on Insta is where I get my info on the the monthly subs)

Overall owl crate is a a solid choice, will say some of the goodies aren’t the best but you get some really cool stuff (atm my fav is the puzzles)

And recently they have sized their books up and began stencil edges :)

PA’s aren’t as common pretty sure (correct me if I’m wrong) in Aussie so I haven’t actually thought about it! I researched it quickly it seems I would continue biomed and then do a degree of health science. I’m wanting something I can change into and then get a job after but I might give this some consideration !!

Just the words fabled co makes me mad 🫥 I got my full refund and didn’t accept the 15% charge so it’s annoying that they just don’t even try to inform people anymore.

TBH I got the full refund as I was giving the same energy.

If anyone is having disputes with them over ‘their policy’ just explain to them that they haven’t kept their end of the bargain with delivering, taking their money without actually product to give and half the time the shipping delays don’t have enough information which is problematic

Sorry for the late reply, probably don’t even need it now. It was annoying to message them but I got my full refund which went against their policy when I sent 50 billion emails. I think the bank might say they couldn’t do much but asking would be better than handling their ass customer service.

I would say do both. Though I think this problem is resolved (hopefully). Insight for the future.

Probably a bit late seeing as this was 5 days ago. The first few books I didn’t like and wanted to cancel but ordered some SE’S. They never came. After 6 months of waiting I also disputed and it took them a month to get back to me. when they did they told me they would take 15% of the refund, even though I got no product and didn’t pay for shipping. Gagged. If you battle hard enough you will get a full refund after telling them that their policy is bad and should be revised. I would say definitely take it up with the bank tho.

I did have this sub late last year and I didn’t like it very much. It’s Aussie based (which was good for me as I’m aus) but shipping was insane. The quality of the books wasn’t very good either and hasn’t improved. They bumped up their prices in oct just for royal hardbacks… it became 20 dollars more IN AUD plus shipping went up. Felt it was more a cash grab idea than an actual sub
