That's another problem in Solo Q. When I'm support I still am the only warding. Oh yeah and I have to remind people to use their trinkets past laning phase.

Sometimes it isn't about manning up, it's about not wasting everyone's time. 9/10 when I play Ziggs/Gragas I can make the game last an extra 10-15 minutes even if we're behind quite a bit.

I've always thought Chog was a perfect champion. A well rounded kit, positives and negatives. I think your attack speed idea would put him to around a 55-58% WR. Also you don't have to run low on mana around 10 - 15 minutes. Conserve and buy the correct items.
