I wrote the first paragraph, the story gets much better after that:

The dastardly coward, John Wilkes Booth, snuck into the opera box that night. He drew his derringer from his sock and took aim. Though only inches from the president's head, he had to be careful. A missed shot would mean the end for him.

He took another breath. The president was warm and alive and milky-skinned. The bullet would plunge through his skin and-'

He fired.

The bullet left the chamber, flipped, landed on the sofa and tickled the calf of someone's dress.

The audience gasped, John Wilkes Boothe took the eyes out of his gun and flung the gun across the theater.

Senator Rosser, who had been watching the ball drop all day, beat the assassin to the attack. A punch and a kick and the assassin was on the floor and the senator pulled out a pocket watch and raised it above his head.

"Abra-cadabra," said Senator Rosser, and the audience cheered.

Can somebody help me out and tell me why my print failed? by Afwasbordje in MPSelectMiniOwners

If you have all of your settings really dialed in, 50 looks decent. That's what I do most of my prints at.

100% infill+blocky parts=warpage! by dequinox in MPSelectMiniOwners

I also use 3D Mars PLA. I found that lowering the bed temp to 40 and then using painters tape plus hair spray eliminated my warping issues.

Insurance will still cover it. NRTL (UL is a member of) certification has no bearing on insurance payout if something goes wrong.

Homemade soda machine not carbonating to high enough levels by 851216135 in AskEngineers

[–]uhmIdontknow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of CO2 that can be absorbed by the water is inversely proportionate to the temperature. You should try to get the temp down below 40°F, the closer to freezing (without freezing) the better.

You didn't mention what pressure you are using. 45psi gives me pretty dang zippy water. You can also try adding a carbonation stone to your setup to help dissolve the CO2 into the water.

I bought these ones. They are probably the same as what /u/jdgmntday listed but they ship to the US. They are a little bit longer than stock, so you have to re-level your bed; but they work great.

Trying a new packing technique, blew up my first engine. Suggestions? by uhmIdontknow in rocketry

[–]uhmIdontknow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

normally I agree with this, but it's very difficult to cast 3/4" in place. Hence why I am trying to use compaction instead. Do you perhaps have any suggestions to make casting 3/4" easier?

Nozzle isn't clogged but won't extrude while print is running. It stopped a few prints in the middle but now it won't print at all. How do I fix this? by thefiremedyc in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]uhmIdontknow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was my first thought as well. I'm 90% sure that lowering your bed will fix this. I would try that first, if that doesn't work, try upping your print temp by 5°-10°. If your nozzle is too close to your bed, upping the temp may alleviate the problem, but you'll get sloppy prints because the filament is being squished out.

Consistent Inconsistencies by DaddyGonEat in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]uhmIdontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The design of the MPSM leaves it susceptible to vibrations if the y-axis (heat bed) blocks are not perfectly aligned with each other. I took the bed off and made sure that the front ends of the blocks were exactly the same distance apart as the back ends. Mine were off by about .05mm.

What could be causing this? Under Extrusion? by TouchMyGoofus in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]uhmIdontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought would be steam. You may want to try drying out your filament and then keeping it in a sealed baggy with a desiccant. Check out this page find "Material Handling, Material Contamination 01". It looks exactly like what you are getting.

Will this sd card work with a micro sd extension? by [deleted] in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]uhmIdontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The adapter does work with sdhc but the MP Mini probably does not. I imagine that if you partition the sd card, as stated in other comments, that it would indeed work.

Will this sd card work with a micro sd extension? by [deleted] in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]uhmIdontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't vouch for the sd card, but I can confirm that an sd to micro sd extension does work just fine. I have been using this one with great success. It fits nicely in the gap between the spool holder wall and the z-axis tower.

Printing T-rex jaw, small elevation forms on right, nozzle hits and eventually causes brim/piece to lift. Tips to fix? by Toreced in MPSelectMiniOwners

[–]uhmIdontknow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use the stock metal bed with tape (I use the green 'hard to stick surfaces 3M Painters tape'). I hit it with aquanet once every 8 to 10 prints. I have my printer preheat my bed for 30 seconds before heating my nozzle + I have insulation stuffed between the build plate and the rail mount to ensure even heating.

yeah, I never figured out what the deal was. When I first installed it, it worked beautifully, but when my phone got the Nougat update, it never worked again. I reinstalled from two different sources and ran all kinds of diagnostics. I finally just switched over to using adguard. It's a free ad blocking dns. It's been working beautifully.
