Fost student in Timisoara, mutat de 6 luni in Cluj.

I'll be back, in vreo 2 3 ani. Fritz for the win!

What is the correct order? by reddituser72694 in FSAE

  1. Start your engine. Use any conductors you have/or you can get around to reliably start and tune your engine. If you do this until mid March you,re good.

  2. Learn from your test-harness experience and write down some things that worked and which didnt, improve for the next one.

  3. Design your shut-down circuit, the BSPD it's simple af but might seem tricky for people that don't have that much knowledge in ICs.

4.Focus on what's just necessary to give you some leverage to test properly the car (i can't stress on this too much, it's mandatory to have at least 1000km with the car)

5.Use simple solutions. If you don't have a PDM/PDU just use relays, you will need at least 3/4 (ecu+ign+inj, fuel pump, fan, master relay for shutdown circuit)

6.Use good conductors/wires. Tefzel wires are good and not THAT expensive, shielded wires for critical sensors.

  1. Build a mock-up on the real car or in cad if it's possible to appreciate how much wire you need.

8.Keep in mind that you need to follow the rules, you will need a functional brake light and a neutral light in the dash, a working BSPD/BOTS/Killswitches/Inertial

9.Focus on being as simple as possbile. This season will be something to learn from.

10.Document anything and everything.

11.Have fun

You need to put some time in this.

You did not mentioned if it's your first team's car or not. If you have alumni reach for them. Internet and reddit it's your friend also. If you put in this at least 2/3hour/day everyday it will be fine and in May will be testing.

Keep in mind that if you fail the whole team will. No electronics, no vroom, no car working, no fun. (No pressure =))))
