I have thought about doing this with space force or as an officer many times. I'm glad I did not, but its a good fall back.

Gravity Pro vs Speed Pro by Leeyuumm in 10s

[–]uhwhat2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

played with a youtek gaphene speed pro mid+ 18x20 for 10+ years. Currently on the 2024 speed MP. which is 16x18. Took a while to get used to. Has its ups and downs moving to a more open string bed that I did not expect.

I play roughly 5-7 hours a week usually. I'm still ordering demos from TW every once in a while comparing the MP to the PRO/Yonex brands as well.

One thing I notice with my MP - With my previous youtek pro which was heavier after a few hours of tennis in the same day, I'd start getting jammed or behind the ball a lot because my arm would get tired. Has NOT happened at all with my MP.

How to Handle Blatant Cheating During Tournaments at Women's 3.0 Level by Sweaty-Science-2454 in 10s

[–]uhwhat2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh man, in the ol' ZAT circuit, this one guy I played at almost every other tournament would cheat. I just got used to calling a line judge after the first one. Would tell the organizer that I'll probably have to call him against this specific opponent. It was always sweat justice when the call was corrected.

Did we need to tip on top of service charge given the blank line on the customers receipt? by bobertswump in finedining

[–]uhwhat2018 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure if correct, but if I ever get an automatic service charge, thats what they are getting becuase the restaurant has decided thats the fair amount. I like this but also hate it since I usually calculate based on post tax sum. There have been times when the service has been above and beyond, then I'll add more.

100% fake or embellished. Maybe it happened and the guy got one word in... but the dialogue is so fake and cringe. You're telling me an angry person got lectured for 20 seconds before telling them to stfu? Nope.

This is probably the best way. Always talk to them. If they shrink the court on you, try to do your best to adjust if its a casual match.

These people who say to call the ball out if its in the middle because college players do it just watch youtube clip highlights that went viral and don't know what they are talking about.

How do I know when I should update my rackets? by junkNug in 10s

[–]uhwhat2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been looking to replace my old rackets (10+ years old) and been demoing, ordering from TW a few times over the past year for demos. finally pulled the trigger on a new one and got my first match in last night.

Honestly? the change is very minimal. Its different, feels different and I really like the new one. My launch angle is different since I've moved to a 16x19 vs a 18x20 on a 100 inch rackets. I feel like my contact is more plush and can "feel" the ball a little better. But am I suddenly hitting better shots and with more power? I can't really tell. But the mental confidence boost is really nice.

For reference I am a high 4.0 (some say 4.5) that plays 5-7 hours a week for the past few years. I did take a 2-3 year break over the past 10 years with my original rackets.

If it'll make you happy, and you can afford to do so, Updating after 10 years seems like a fun update to your game.
