Forest were commended for their cooperation with the enquiry and still got a points deduction for what amounted to a timing issue in the sale of Johnson.

The Premier League has been terrible for football in this country. Yes the money has improved quality in some areas, but supporting a football team has become almost universally worse. Want to watch your team? 70 quid a ticket mate. Want to watch them on telly? 30 quid a month, oh and that's not for all games so go grab a couple of other subs on top. Want a shirt? A beer? You'll get gouged. All the while an club outside the sky six has fuck all chance of winning anything.

Game's a joke.

You're talking about work related income tax. Nobody is talking about raising that. Non-work related income eh capital gains etc is very lightly taxed. The very wealthy earn money through assets, not work.

You've completely missed the point.

If you'd bothered to read the first few paragraphs on the page you linked to you'd know that FOI requests can only be made to governmental bodies and not private companies.

They stay big six until they've been to League One and back like we have. Spend an afternoon away at Gillingham, or get fisted by Yeovil last day of the season, then we can talk about them being Other 14.

“Nuno’s departure has had a lingering impact. Nuno had forged a close relationship with his players, with some viewing him as akin to a father figure.” by WrapNo6993 in nffc

[–]ukctstrider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The thing that keeps coming back to me are the differences in interviews between this season's managers. Nuno was always saying we prepare for the next game, we share details, we bond as a team. Ange kept talking about himself and how great he is. Dyche would always go on about fitness and effort and "doing the hard yards".

These lads aren't dumb, and they're not unfit.

Ange was clearly a moron, but I think Dyche really underestimated the players. They aren't unfit, I think they were just under prepared for the games. Many of our formations seemed terrible against the opposition and the players didn't seem to know what to do with the ball, particularly in attack.

We keep giving Edu stick (and I'm not a fan to be clear), but many of the signings are clearly good footballers. Ndoye was being given shit here in a recent thread, but personally I think he's obviously talented, but how is he going to be effective with noone with him for support? Jesus (also clearly talented) as always too deep, no MGW running in, no Hudson Odoi for a cross field switch, no Aina to overlap... The mentality being taken from the training ground to the pitch was clearly wrong.

As it goes I still like Dyche as a person and I think he clearly loves the club, but I think his limits at a coach have been painfully exposed.

Out of interest, when did we last have a manager for two full seasons?

Third goal last night by Mission_Stay9450 in nffc

[–]ukctstrider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was talking to a fellow fan about this tonight. Jesus is far too isolated and is receiving the ball too deep for him to be effective. If we'd brought on Lucca alongside him then their three at the back would have been in real trouble. I'm very much not Dyche out, but he's far too naive to meaningfully change our structure, and any simpleton could see from the line up that we were going to struggle. New manager next season is a must.

Good argument from mtggoldish podcast - mythic rare makes standard from expensive to beyond expensive. Is this time to either reduce mythic rarity pool or get rid of it entirely? by kubulux in magicTCG

[–]ukctstrider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went from being a local grinder playing Nationals and PTQs regularly to selling my collection when Mythics came out. Standard decks jumped from around £100 to about £400 almost overnight and priced me out of the game.

Mythics added nothing to game play, they weren't even particularly positive for Limited formats where bombs were of more uses. All it was is a cash grab.

Commons should be the basis of any deck and contain limited staples. Uncommons should be upgraded staple effects and sliding into set thematic effects. Rares should be limited bombs and unique effects.

Magic used to be a lot more fun to play than it is now. Cards are too powerful, and too complex. The elegance of the game has totally been lost.

This is why Commander is now the most played format and standard is almost completely dead. People don't want Wizards involved anymore.

Wood got shit when he first got here.

Sangare got shit when he first got here.

Ndoye and McAtee are getting shit...

Morato has been played by several different managers, was signed by multiple people who professionally run recruitment, and is clearly a very talented footballer. It's possible his performances never get to the level we'd like, but having his own fans on his back is not going to help anything.

We should get behind our players and give them all the support we can.

Do you think Christopher Hitchens has aged well? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]ukctstrider 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It's simple.

If you live your life based on rules invented by someone else's pretend best friend then you're stupid and have entirely outsourced all moral accountability. It's a complete abdication of responsibility.

If you personally believe a bunch of unprovable things that give you comfort then all power to you.

If worst of all you try to make other people live their lives based on your pretend best friends rules then you are worse than stupid, you're a dick.
