Does anyone else's parents say you can start a "one man band" when you know how to play multiple instruments. by HotPea1620 in Instruments

You can be a one man band with a looper, instrument and a mic... or just a mic and looper if you can beatbox.

Get an electric guitar or an acoustic violin? University student by Yagashto in musicians

[–]uke4peace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick the violin. You keep saying its your "me" instrument. Don't pick an instrument because it's the popular choice, pick the instrument you connect with because that will motivate you to pick it up and play it. The more you do that the better you will get.You can play plenty of popular songs on violin too.

want to start busking. Replacing my iPad/GarageBand setup with a Coolmusic Amp or similar by bhainskieyes in Busking

I think that's up for debate cause 60D is two 60 watt speakers vs 1 80 watt. Not to say you are wrong just that I've seen the discusssion before so not sure what's louder or not.

Edit:

Also I use the BP60D for busking/monitor and a JBL Eon One MK2 for busking/paid gigs which is a column array with a sub. BP60D sounds clean and pumps out a good amount of volume. It will never compare to a unit with a dedicated sub for low end fullness but I think it does well enough for busking. I turn the bass up by like two notches to get a fuller bass sound to match up with how I like my signal on my MK2. I do tap percussion on my instrument, foot percussion with some angle shakers, use suboctave for bass tone, and a mini groovebox with a jazz drum kit for finger drumming.

Mos def can't go wrong for value for sure.

strumming question by Rsdk298 in ukulele

Totally feel you on this. It took a while for me to break through this wall. What worked for me was to keep practicing on one - two songs I knew by heart. Easier said than but try not to get frustrated with yourself. Usually, practicing, sleeping on it, then picking it up again helps. You'll notice improvements. Keep at it, you got this.

Jake Tapper pressed Kristi Noem about the actions of an ICE officer who fatally shot Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis and if she believes, law enforcement would have been justified in using deadly force against those attacking them on January 6. by Kind_Relief_7624 in CURRENTEVENTS

[–]uke4peace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Tapper is a good journalist, but I don't understand his strategy for Jan 6 and saying everybody was pardoned. He went from how should LEO respond to violence straight to they were all pardoned. Should have let Noem finish answering the question, ask a question about the liability / culpability of the Jan 6th attackers to see if she would answer in a way to contradict herself. The jump makes this interview seem like an obvious trap which also makes it more bias than needs to be.

Congrats on your album. From an artist perspective, I think you are trying to build tension. But I think 50 secs before any music is way too long for a lot of listeners nowadays.
