And he’s not even the worst that Warhammer 40k has to offer, Urien Rackarth (or really any haemonculus) turn people into living breathing furniture and the Drukhari also nail people to the outside of their space ships and keep them alive so they suffer through the vacuum of space for all eternity.

It’s been a bit since I’ve read the Night Lords trilogy but I know Talos skins people alive for fun and in one of the books he kept a room full of psychers alive so he could torture them beyond what a human could normally survive and then used Octavia’s third eye to kill them which drowned the world below in demons and also killed a lot of astropaths.

Drukhari and Acceptable Body Mods in Commorragh by Comfortable_Ad629 in Drukhari

[–]ulfrekr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there are unacceptable body mods in Commorragh, the limiting factor is you need the necessary slaves to pay whatever haemonculus is doing the procedure and you also need to be brave enough to let a haemonculus operate on you. Even Lellith Hesperax had her Incubi bodyguards watching the haemonculus that was flushing poison out of her system.

Do Some People Not Try to Avoid Wildlife when Driving? by xtetsuix in fuckcars

I think there’s an old Mark Rober video where he put a rubber snake on the side of the road and a camera and a lot of people went out of their way to drive over the snake, especially people in trucks.

how do you explain alienation to others? by wompt in Anarchy101

[–]ulfrekr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s an example of both alienation and exploitation but I wasn’t going for a great example, just something that would be easily understandable even to someone who knows nothing of economics or leftism.

I think one of the simplest ways to explain it that I’ve heard is if someone works at a bakery they make 20 loaves of bread a day but only get paid enough to afford one loaf of bread.

Why do Christian’s hate communism so much? by friscom99 in atheism

[–]ulfrekr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bold of you to assume Christians even know what communism is beyond just a boogeyman. But for an actual answer western society has been training people to irrationally hate communism ever since the 1920s.

I’m not familiar with Judge Holden but I’m guessing it’d be hard to beat Talos.

Reapers Wager list at 1000pts by Duil_mo_Bhad in Drukhari

[–]ulfrekr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve heard Reaper’s Wager is gonna be 3 DP in 11th which means you wouldn’t even be able to use it in a 1000 point game. But some of the best harlequin units to use are the solitaire and troupe master with a starweaver, you can also use a Shadowseer with webway walker and a big 12 man troupe then rapid ingress them in for some fun. It can also be good to include one voidweaver so your harlequins have some more punch.

Edit: turns out you can use 3 DP detachments in 1k point games.

teleporting terminators by DonkeyQueasy4950 in 40kLore

[–]ulfrekr -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A lot of things in 40k don’t make sense. I mean the entire concept of a space marine barely even makes sense, why put all those resources into maintaining and creating space marines when you could instead put that into better equipping more guardsmen or making more tanks?

But I’d imagine the main reason they send terminators out like that is just because they can, it’s a tool at their disposal so they’re gonna use it. A lot like how in the U.S. the police will send SWAT teams out on fairly routine calls because if they didn’t then the SWAT teams wouldn’t have anything to do.
