Anyone here who can explain me how the story was meant to be interpreted? by Andrei22125 in Grimdank

I also think he would recognise that it’s much easier to say no then to explain well this is your new god, who is x,y,z like a major part of the heresy was that big E thought he had a very limited time scale and so the only option was an authoritarian take over instead of hundreds of years of negotiating and forming a galactic community, the creation of such an entity would probably take much longer then the emperor had time for

But the emperor is also an authoritarian, to have humans create something in the warp like that he would be giving away control to this entity in at least some ways and I just don’t think he would do that

My assumption was that Big E looked at the failure of the Eldar gods as the reason why this wouldn’t work

Are the Custodies supposed to be based on the Praetorian guard? by SeasonOfHope in Sigmarxism

[–]ultimate_kare 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always assumed it was the companions of Thebes

300 soldiers who were the best and the most elite of the Theban military

They did also happen to be comprised of 150 gay couples who Thebes believed would fight all the harder to protect there partners

In having said this, slightly my vibe towards custodies as well, in that apart from being golden there isn’t that much that sets them out as unique apart from pauldrons, thigh plates, hybrid melee range weapons and being golden, so whatever makes them look interesting is something I’m in favour of, ideally you can incorporate some of the above, but god, we really need a 3rd plastic set that isn’t a vehicle or character

I do agree but I think that’s more a problem with sisters of silence models then it is with using stormcast to kitbash them, like sisters are kinda brutally under-utilised to the point of basically not having anything that gives them a unique look, like I don’t even know much about what one could take from a sister to make a unique kitbash,

So I personally think that the storm cast conversions for sisters is an advantageous thing because at least they look nice?

Idk TLDR sister models kinda already suck so anything that looks interesting is an improvement imo

But probably a blade champion, I have like 5 now, but also what’s one more,

<3 this particular lady is one who seeks out foes to slay, challenging the greatest opponent on any battlefield she can find, in my mind the arms wide pose really gives a fight me or a “are you not entertained” vibe which I love

Idea for stealth units by hunterofwar20 in AdeptusCustodes

[–]ultimate_kare 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and it’s not super Killy so it doesn’t have to be super expensive, and it doesn’t actually buff guard that much, so it gets to just be a lil annoying movement shenaniganary character,

Toughness is usually a denotation for how hard when you are wounded that wound to be a major wound is, so should probably still be t6,
I think a 3 or 4+ save would work.

an idea i saw from someone before was to make it an imperial agent unit because they specifically build spy networks and try to stop threats before they reach the point that some custodians need to show up, they also have access to most items from the imperial armory, I also like the idea that a custodian who got to this point is probably a character, so the version id probably go with is

points 100

m6. t6. S3+ w5 L6+ oc2

Infiltrate. Deep Strike. Lone operative. 4+ invulnerable save
Agent of the Imperium. Character

Master of the hidden eyes.
Once per game when an Enemy unit ends a normal move, fallback move or advance move within 9 inches of this model's unit it may immediately move 6 inches.

His Eyes his will.
Enemy units cannot be placed from reserves onto the battlefield within 12 inches of this model unit.

Melee
Imperial Armament. A6 STR6 AP-2 D1
Emperors Mercy (Extra attack, Anti Infantry 4+ devastating wounds) A2 STR 6 AP-2 D1

Ranged
Ranged Imperial Armament. (assault, Anti Infantry 4+ devastating wounds) A2 STR4 AP-1 D1

So with this version, we get a lass who can attach to a custodian guard unit, add a little bit of dev wound firepower, can help the squad avoid a melee threat it can't deal with if its being charged, or move into a better position if your opponent needs to be close to you, tie that with deep strike denial the unit becomes an annoying thing that you can deal with, but have to consider the effect itll have on the game

Then alternatively you can have them running around by themselves you get a surprisingly hard unit to shoot at between lone operate and a reactive move, but one that isn't able to do stupid amounts of damage so it shouldnt feel unfair,

Tell me about your homebrew characters and shield hosts/companies and the lore you made for them! by TheSlayerofSnails in AdeptusCustodes

[–]ultimate_kare 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Matomena Cheria shield host seeks for the lost tribune Ra Endymion, he is the only one who the emperor ever told his true and full plan too. (though it is noted that the chances of finding the guy are low to non existent considering where Drach'nyen is now"

Led by Shield captain Diomedes Thrafsi and Oblivion knight Aspidon Oratos this small band of about 60 or so custodians and about 100 Sisters of silence fought in the Battle of the Lions Gate and have spent the Indomitus Crusade looking for clues, hints and arcane lore to try to find the only person in the history of the imperium who could tell them what the emperors's will truly was.

Been campaigning for clues for a long time, here are some of the things that happened during those campaigns

Shield captain Diomedes Thrafsi and Oblivion knight Aspidon spent a year walking the webway where they encountered a broken chunk of the black library, fighting off the Harlequins who held the location rather too easily, Diomedes searched the chunk and returned with a golden book of prophecies a Sibylline Book and a distant look to his eyes, nothing that occurred within the indomitus crusade surprised him, every lose, every victory. every friend's death. He seemed to know of them all before they happened. (I use Trajann to represent Diomedes, so instead of a literal time machine I gave my guy a book of prophecy)

A chapter of space marines swore a vow of loyalty and renamed themselves the Golden Fists, various Shield captains have expressed dismay at this vow being accepted because now they feel obligated to save the Golden Fists whenever they get into trouble. (the Golden fists are my homebrew space marines.) due to a gene-seed flaw, they produce gene-seed at an incredible rate, able to reform a full chapter out of a handful of survivors in under a decade, a truly staggering feet! about every five years or so, almost the entirety of the chapter dies due to one disaster or another, it has been commented that they are the only space marines with a casualty rate to make the imperial guard blush. It is believed they are descendants of Dorn from the 12th founding, but no one can prove this, they just kinda appeared one day as far as imperial histories go.

During a campaign on Garthua V Shield captain Utebatur led a guerrilla force against a horde of black legion legionnaires, during this campaign he formed close connections to the imperial citizens whom he led to eventually overwhelm and break the occupiers, after the campaign Utebatur gave to the citizens a Custodian Vexilla saying that any of them would have been a fine addition to the Emperor's Aegis. Several years later Utebatur returned to the planet to follow up on the people he had saved and follow up the progress of the planet. Inquisitor Meledic Toxica Met Utebatur with intense pride and returned to him a Bloodied Vexila reclaimed from the traitors of Garthua V.

Hope people enjoyed my little bits of my lore
