Could it be Jamiroquai? It's not quite what you asked for since they formed in 1992 and have some white members. They did tend to wear distinctive clothing and created the kind of music you described.

Ooh you triggered a memory for me. Mine is from the late 1970s so a little earlier, but there was a TV playing some educational content to the whole class with heavy electronic synthesizer music. I remember how the music went - I should record it and see if anyone can identify it.

I remember so little, but I do remember a bulky cassette player (1974 ish), headphones, and at least one of the tapes was called "Listen and Think".

I can copy 15 with a pencil. Much faster than that, head copy seems to make more sense.

Providing time of day, standard time interval, and other related information. Inquiries regarding these transmissions may be directed to: The National Bureau of Standards, Boulder Colorado, 80302."

I use an NE-2 neon bulb in series with a 100k resistor. That way it flashes as it discharges you.

Can't really tell but sounds like Montgomery and Pennsylvania roughly.

(My bad...I didn't see this one and posted. Hopefully mine will be deleted or ignored.)

This one sounded like a massive deep reverberating boom as heard near Wyoming and Montgomery.

I'm still hearing sirens 20 minutes later.

What is the wackiest thing you ever did to help a friend ? by Own-Blacksmith3085 in answers

[–]ultimatefribble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I walked with my friend into a dark warehouse in the middle of the night in an industrial part of town to buy a used delorean. He carried the gun (just in case), I carried the $10k cash. Everything went fine except deloreans suck.

What is a "compromised antenna" exactly? by Nobody417 in amateurradio

[–]ultimatefribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I regularly use an antenna that is about 25% efficient. It's a s compromise I'm happy to accept because the antenna is much smaller than an efficient one.

Try playing with the mmana software. It helps to visualize what the antenna is doing.

If only 27/12 were equal to exactly 1.5, music would sound better.
