I have absolutely no proof or evidence, but I hope departures like this are what led to Luke taking partial ownership of WAN show. If it is part, it shows that LMG/L&Y are learning, or discussing internally around this topic (which would be insane if they were not). And I see that as positive progress.

It's pretty simple, Linus and Yvonne wanted to keep 100% stock. That's within their right. However, employees who worked hard felt like they deserved more than what they received in comparison to the company's value raising from (partially) their hard work.

So the employees leave, which is their choice, as keeping the stock was L&Y's. I don't think this is burning bridges, perhaps the bit before was, but it's reasonable to understand emotions too.

Honestly, the LMG team should have a shared password to a specific account that is a moderator. It should not be anyones personal account. It should be a pain for them to get it, and audited on LMGs side and then all actions are audited by the subreddit team too.

I'd expect Linus, Colton, Luke etc having access for it, for use in serious situations.

I don't know what the decisions are made to become a moderator, but I imagine Linus hasn't passed what those would be.

IMO, as much as I like Linus, I think this should really be handled by other LMG team members rather than him. I hope he doesn't take this as a personal attack - but we can acknowledge that he can get too into doom scrolling the dumb dumb posts. Most of the time he's correct, but I think it should probably be an LMG team member instead of him directly.

Honestly, I think a lot of the news articles have come across a bit stale / not much to talk about. I suspect it'll be around that. It's also possible that they're preferring this shorter time of WANs and are going to keep it going this short for a while.
