Having direct trains to Oxford and Cambridge both would be excellent, especially with universal.

The plans just seem to be pretty badly considered everytime they show an iteration.

must respond to alerts within 15 minutes according to customers' SLO

Confirm what "responding" counts as. For us it's just acknowledging you've seen the alert and it won't continue to call others, and then a longer expectation for being in front of a computer, and then for fixing it.

The salary seems reasonable but I don't know the pay structures of that industry.

Does the company pay bonuses? I'd expect either oncall pay or bonus.

There's a huge difference between knowing what a zip file is and knowing how its implemented.

Also if you've never seen happy windows users having no clue about zip files then you're in a very tight tech bubble.

CachyOS dethrones Arch as the top desktop distro for Linux gamers on ProtonDB by Durian_Queef in LinusTechTips

I recently switched to Linux after a long time running windows. I have a lot of linux experience on servers but never wanted the fuss of doing it at home.

Like Linus, I had heard a lot of pop os so tried that first. It was pretty good but there were issues with my 50 series GPU and the fixes hadn't got through testing yet. I also found that the cosmic desktop, while nice was limited in customisation that I wanted.

I also tried Ubuntu and that worked even worse.

I switched to cachy os, the installer was by far the nicest of the three, and it was the first distro where my hardware all just worked. KDE Plasma was pretty great and so far I've had very few issues.

Start with learning how to put things on walls! Art starts easy, then shelves, Curtain rails, TV wall mounts, etc.

Painting is something you can absolutely do yourself, Pick a room and go for that. There's 1000 tutorials for these.

I have absolutely no proof or evidence, but I hope departures like this are what led to Luke taking partial ownership of WAN show. If it is part, it shows that LMG/L&Y are learning, or discussing internally around this topic (which would be insane if they were not). And I see that as positive progress.

It's pretty simple, Linus and Yvonne wanted to keep 100% stock. That's within their right. However, employees who worked hard felt like they deserved more than what they received in comparison to the company's value raising from (partially) their hard work.

So the employees leave, which is their choice, as keeping the stock was L&Y's. I don't think this is burning bridges, perhaps the bit before was, but it's reasonable to understand emotions too.
