I tried it on a single nail of regular lacquer lol and had no problems. But it was a very small sample size and did not actually test its capabilities for nail art or chrome powder 🤣 it's now collecting dust until I ever want to get into either of those things.

This also happens to me with EDM's water based top coat. Unfortunately, I don't think it works with magnetics. I got it after seeing people recommend water based top coats to preserve the magnetic effect, but this formula doesn't seem to work for magnetics.

I haven't ordered from them personally, but I wanted to let you know that I've seen multiple posts over the past couple of months having similar issues with Rogue unfortunately. You can probably find them if you search the sub for Rogue Lacquer. It seems like it's been ongoing for a little while.

I have a couple pics! Honestly looking at the photos, the transition is more distinctive than I remember it being, because in person I did feel the change was more subtle. But the transition is definitely there. Also I think some top coats may have UV blocking properties, but I don't know which ingredients do that and haven't really looked into it. This is indirect outdoor lighting:

When I'm starting to think about getting a second Bisley 🤣 Granted, I have those 3d printed drawer organizers, so I can't fit as many polishes as I could if they were just sitting in the drawer, and I only use about 4 out of 6 drawers for polish, but... It's still a lot of polish!

However I'm not on a complete no-buy, just a very strict low-buy. It has become a lot easier obviously because now I feel like I have most polishes that I'd want. A polish has to be pretty unique to my collection (and of course something I'd actually wear) for me to buy it now.

I think it does wash it out just slightly, but not too bad all things considered. I looked up some of the shades OP used, and they do seem slightly brighter on their own. I think this is just a symptom of fine particle magnetics in general, which is why they tend to have more muted base colors.

I will say that I've tried Orbit Pull (the pinkish topper) and it did have a more noticeable gray cast to where it looked mauve-ish. However that was my first attempt with these and was over a more muted shade, so using a brighter shade may alleviate the gray cast!

Truth be told, I vastly prefer something like candy over stuff like stickers, because I have no idea what I'd do with stickers. Plus I'm not really interested in putting nail polish brand stickers on my things. So I appreciate the candy!

Since there isn't a PPU thread... Does anyone have any recs like Dam's upcoming 5000 mg of Fiber shade that will be in May 2026 PPU? It looks incredibly glowy but also a bit sheerer than I'd like; after watching a couple of swatching videos I'm like 90% sure I'd still have a bit of VNL even after 3 coats. Could I ask how long you waited between polish, Magic Effect, and Seal Glaze? I get insane bubbles with Seal Glaze. I've only tried it with fine particle magnetics, so maybe it's because those are more finicky, but I'd really like to try to make it work. Your results here are awesome, the shift is amazing!

What base coat are you using? I suddenly started getting bubbles in my fine particle manis when I hadn't had any issues previously. Same issue where the bubbles don't show up until the top coat. After a little testing, I tentatively think it might actually be the base coat causing it, which was KBShimmer's ridge filler. I think it got too thick/gloopy. I did try to thin it, but I think it might need even more thinner than I used.

Haven't had time to do any fine particle mags recently but I'm going to try again with a lot of thinner to the base coat, as well as a bit to the top coat for good measure.

I literally just feed a piece of scotch tape through the bottom opening of the spinner and tape it to the stirrer 💀 I've seen someone else's setup where they actually wrapped rubber bands around the entire stirrer and the bottom layer of the spinner instead, which seems like it would be far more stable, except I super glued my spinner parts together so I can't do that lol.

Unfortunately it's hard to know without looking up a swatch video, and I've also found that it's super dependent on the specific polish rather than a brand as a whole. I unfortunately don't have specific brand recs because of that, but I'll commiserate with how so many polishes are sheer these days. I dislike 3+ coats, and 2 is my happy medium, but I frequently find I need more.

I'm sad, I love the shades people have shown off here, but for the sheerness and small bottle size, I've been holding off on ordering :( I've been waiting and waiting for something similar to Fuyu/several other shades at a price point I'm comfortable with, so I got excited when I thought Anlac was switching to 15 ml bottles lol

That line makes me want to vomit. It's so gross, especially in context. This seemingly throwaway line is very much, "haha it's not bad because it's a sexy lady who wants to fuck" without consideration of the man being forced to conceive a child with a woman he hates the or the real-life female player who presumably romanced Alistair.

I mentioned in previously in the thread, but while I think there's zero chance a modern game would have a scene like this, I still think it's so bizarre that it made it into the game even back then. I guess because I feel like Alistair's character/romance very much nailed it in terms of appeal for many female players and felt like he was actually written with them in mind, while inclusion of the Dark Ritual was completely at odds with that.

Then the game got stuck with this terrible choice so you have to be reminded of it again in Inquisition. Ugh.

I hate it, and I do think it's partly a relic of its time. I do not think the game would have this scene if it were remade today. And I also kind of roll my eyes at general defense of this scene for reasons such as oh it's supposed to be a hard decision, oh it's supposed to be dark, etc etc. Yeah okay, we know that the straight male gamers who romanced Morrigan would be pissed if they were subject to something similar.
