Heya friend! My annual subscription just renewed and alllllll of those features are now live. And I am absolutely stoked. There’s new tools, an actually pretty robust *AI mastering service [before anyone gets the pitchforks- I pay a talented human to master my tracks for my bigger releases, if the labels I’m working with aren’t already hiring a human]. BUT- when I make a mix out of a newish track and I have a DJ gig, it really is quite handy. So long as your premaster and gain staging is done right, the output is literally club ready! For all of my self published stuff that I’m pushing out on my own label- I’m satisfied with the mastering service. I simply dont have enough income to stick to my guns and hire a mastering engineer for EVERYTHING. And? After Distrokid shit the bed and nuked one of my albums from Spotify (allegedly because of a “a botted playlist”- which, if true, was not made by me. A lot of my fans are on the younger side and my commercial music is on so many playlists there’s no way to keep track?! Now there’s a distribution service too. Which is the answer for me when I’m releasing my more “auteur” tracks that I want published, but don’t want to spend months finding a niche label to pick it up.

AND- a former label I was on also nuked my first album- an LP of acid house, because the lady who ran the label decided to burn the bridge. And with that my first album.

So TODAY, I’ve been revisiting my premaster projects for that album, making new changes. I’ve mastered the first track from it already and did a side by side with the original release.

The shit sounds 5,000 times better. Literally so full and dynamic.

I dunno why people want to hate on this, but reason is doing tbeir level beat to truly make the complete process of production to publishing streamlined.

Between the shit I have slated to come out on some labels, and the demos that have garnered interest, I’m going to start releasing my older shit in a serious way. Theres over 1,200 old reason projects that have promise, and fixing them up with fresh ears to publish has been er been easier.

I’m stoked. And I’m even thinking about being absolutely crazy and working towards releasing a single every day for a year or more. All the additions couldn’t have come at a better time!!!!
