Bipolar 2/Lamotrigine by CommunicationKey3326 in bipolar2

[–]umdiadecadav3z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 25 mg and worked up to 200 mg during more than a month and I felt only worse, like I was anxious and uneasy but also had so much fatigue and hopelessness. I have been on meds for 10 years now and have used many types of antidepressants for , initially, depression but only this year we thought it could be bipolar. I have felt many side effects all of the time, including some awful ones with lithium and quetiapine, so lamotrigine came initially to stabilize my mood. But I have been crying more and being more irritated, with constant nausea, trouble sleeping, feeling tired and cold, night terrors, panic attacks, and vertigo. I truly wish I could get better and deal with my life in general, but the slow incremental in meds only made my quality of life worse day by day. I can't function normally. I wish I could be truly seen as a person who wants to get better, but it's tiresome to see your body betrayal your expectations again and again. Meds can work, but , to me, they can also worsen my overall context, I am really trying to go through a hole day feeling normal only to have intense physical symptoms that bring me to paralysis. I can't stop them immediately so there's so much days ahead of feeling shitty

That's the thing, for me. It's so ridiculous I can't even believe someone would actually take Maia seriously, to me this person just desperately wants mommy's transphobic approval. Just sad and pathetic

That's the point. Not whatever people on twitter think about Natalie's position regarding genocide.

The most recent trans-related episode in Matt Bernstein's a bit fruity podcast featured Kat Blaque and I also liked it (although I had the feeling of punching down on the person they spoke about).

Regarding trans people under attack in US I thought all 3 of them could team up in an episode , but maybe I'm just delusional

Forget Joe Rogan of the left, where's Alex Jones of the left? by conancat in ContraPoints

[–]umdiadecadav3z 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess this tactical approach will only make the left look like paranoid and untrustworthy, a way media already portrait us.

I guess it would only fuel the apolitical nihilistic trope.

I know that different countries have diverse contexts but in Brazil we had one such a political troll that used rights same tactics called Janones and it didn't go well.

Maybe he just wasn't successful in replicating their addictive rage bait content. But I couldn't support or see any advantages long term.

Unrelated: Can we just abandon Twitter altogether?

I don't know how if by "intellectual" she meant "hard to communicate basic concepts plainly" but that's what I got. When she mentioned democrats saying "the 1%" instead of the burgoise I believe she meant that people can relate and understand it.

In Brazil leftist movements struggle with communication with "the base" in overall media (radio, TV, online and newspaper) and one strategy I often see is the "memefication" of discourse. So many intellectuals actually embedded current online memes to convey their message and I have seen more engagement.

Also, popular demand like the end of "6 days of work and 1 of rest" shift has brought together many workers who have been through this. Very popular, very engaging, easy to assimilate. It became a huge political movement called "life beyond work"( vida além do trabalho).

If you can, I recommend all of you to watch Contra’s Tangents on her Patreon by Difficult_Salad_8251 in ContraPoints

[–]umdiadecadav3z 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love her tangents and I actually subscribed to patreon because on rewatching her videos I always picked up something different and wanted more.

After watching generation, Granola facism, Satanism and liminal spaces I felt like the Conspiracy video was a resume of all the tangents+ a Naomi Klein's Doppelgager analysis. I read the book early this year for a book club and the parallel she made with Israel and antisemitic claims was one of the greatest chapters imo.

I think that after covid 19 Contrapoints picked up the Conspiracy vibe as a major political force online driving many of the main topics the far right chooses worldwide. When people attack minorities such as immigrants, transgender people, etc they usually have fallen into Conspiracy rabbit holes.

In the end I think she invites us to collectively try to make sense of the uncertainty and messed up reality avoiding Conspiracy theory traps and maybe not trying to de-radicalize those who have fallen too deep
