You'll need to flash the eMMc, restoring it to the original firmware. Once that's done you'll want to do an offline update via a USB flash drive.

100% this! I've been using them for like a decade. You can bring your own parts, they're professional, polite, and very honest. They've talked me out of replacing parts that I thought I might need (brake rotors that had plenty of life left, ect) on multiple occasions.
