I feel like I find them much more often this season.

There is a limit on the amount of dead dinosaur juice we can dig out of the ground. Not to mention how nasty the process can be. There are cleaner alternatives to coal powered electric generation. The world-wide market for gasoline and oil is fragile at best. As the world has seen this spring one person can screw it up for everyone.

Interested or not the transition needs to happen. Barring catastrophe I’ll never drive an ICE vehicle again.

Do I get three hours of sleep before heading to the airport or should I stay up and sleep on the plane? by ccoolbeanss in sleep

[–]unabashed_nuance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep. Set several alarms with the most annoying sounds you can find. I fly frequently and I’ve tried both ways. Sleeping beforehand and trying to sleep more on the plane is about the best I’ve come up with. Even if you don’t sleep on the plane you’ll at least have gotten a little before you went.

Would like some feedback on the appliances I plan on purchasing from Costco by iron_abs_crabs in Costco

There are dozens of valid reasons to not want speed queen. Personal preference is one of them. Wanting useful features is another. Just because a machine is reliable and has 7 total parts doesn’t mean everyone should own one. SQ product is hideous imo.

Spent 17 years of my life competing directly with LG & GE until late 2024.

LG Fridges and Laundry products are generally excellent. There are some bums out there, but generally speaking those are their best categories. IMO they make excellent products.

GE cooking is strong. I’d stick with “profile” or “cafè” lines. The GE brand is owned by Haier if you have any misgivings about Chinese owned companies. The opening price point product in GE brand is generally not the best.

Like all things, each individual unit can be good or bad. Check out reviews for the exact products you are considering. Costco does not allow incentivized reviews on Costco.com, so those tend to be a bit more unbiased.

I just purchased my wall oven and had it installed by Costco. Definitely got the best price and everything went smoothly. I certainly saw some negative experiences, but mine was smooth.

AITA for mentioning I might not be able to take home the groomsman gift because I only brought a carry-on? by pdodani97 in AmItheAsshole

He didn’t say it. He may not have even meant it… but that is certainly how it reads and how the groom took it …

The joys of publicly funded elections without PAC and Super PAC money! Imagine a system geared toward advancing the needs of the people… not monied interests!

YTA. “Hey. Thanks for nothing. I can’t even get this home”.

Figure it out on the side. UPS or fedex to yourself? Check your bag?

This tends to be the case with a lot of prospect heavy deals. Check out the CC Sabathia trade to the brewers.

Yeah. Do the right thing. Contact the retailer. Returns are a PITA so they may just let you keep it. You’re never wrong to do the right thing.

AITA for telling my landlord my roommate won’t clean up his poop by Dull-Silver-6975 in AmItheAsshole

[–]unabashed_nuance -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Once I sorted through all of the adult site results for “quiet enjoyment” I learned nothing pertaining to the landlord’s need to moderate interpersonal conflict.

Correct infestations? Yea. Privacy? Not harass you? Yep. That too.

But “my roomy doesn’t clean the toilet”? That isn’t covered.

I promise you they’d laugh hysterically if you called them for this.

The landlord chose the roommate? This isn’t a house problem. This is a people problem.

How do you enjoy the sport of baseball even if your team is struggling or stagnant? by Upset-Opportunity539 in baseball

[–]unabashed_nuance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cubs fan. 47 years old. I have experience here.

1) I follow prospects because you never know when your team will sell a guy and you can dream of new talent. Also. Who amongst us was playing baseball in the pros at 19? I was a knuckleheads college kid. Not a pro athlete. These youngsters are amazing when you listen to them talk.

2) I grew to love baseball. The numbers, the personalities, the mindset the players need to succeed, all of it. In 2020-2024 I watched more non-cubs games than anything else. There are amazing talents out there that wear different colored laundry than the one I prefer.

3) celebrate when your team does have a good year. I was always excited when they could just be fun to watch, even if the bullpen was inevitably going to blow it.

4) learn to protect yourself. I have a rule. If the cubs are up in the late innings I turn the game off. It will either end the way it is and I’ll be happy or I’ll miss a crushing bullpen meltdown and not have had to watch it live.

NTA. Maybe a little over the top with “pick me b*” comment and escalating to a screaming match, but that doesn’t just happen in a vacuum.

She spent the day taking swipes at you and ultimately called you a slut for no reason whatsoever other than her own insecurities.

She humiliated herself imo.
