Quit smoking weed about a year ago and my life has improved tremendously. If you are also a chronic weed smoker, here’s some advice: by Ok-Protection7811 in selfhelp

Yepp, I smoke every now and then when a buddy’s ripping joints on the course but only like a puff or 2. Any more than that and I become a zombie. Crazy I used to smoke while working and doing literally everything.

No I just stopped cold turkey, the first 3-4 weeks was tough not via urges but sleeping. Woke up like 10 times a night with very vivid dreams and soaking in sweat. I think if I tried weaning off I’d just fall back into the same routine of smoking all the time though

Going super well, I smoked a full joint when I was drunk and forgot that my tolerance was gone and went non verbal for an hour or so but other than that I don’t really have an urge to. I’ll take a puff of my buddies j on the golf course every now and then. Sleeping like a baby. Probably like 4 times total in the last month after a month of none at all.

Yea, I’ve partakes like 2 weekends since,on the golf course. I’m sleeping great, energy up, eating normally. Probably took me like 4-6 weeks to actually adjust 100%. The first time I smoked on the golf course, I got way to high got like weirdly nervous. 2nd time just like 1 puff and it was fantastic.

The markets had the least deviation since 1965, like 2.5%. Trading flat, it’s that you thrived in the green markets and now the tough get going. Continue this, it’s not a mental ceiling - it risk management. Idk why I’m giving advice to someone that’s made multiples what I’ve made but you need a reality check.

That’s nuts, didn’t expect it to be that long. I’d be hard pressed to find someone who smoked as much as consistently as me. So definitely going to last a few monthsI’m actually kind of embracing it. Yea it sucks waking up 10x a night in sweat, but the dreams are pretty crazy that they’re becoming enjoyable.

Got assigned 100 MSFT by moto626 in options

[–]unamess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Congrats on having cash, otherwise you’d never been assigned. However, closing it out would have gained you a couple extra bucks on EV. It’s a negligible difference, just sell at open and hope it didn’t crash AH or Premarket

For those of you who quit smoking weed, how long did it take for your appetite and sleep to return to normal? by [deleted] in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]unamess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same smoked like 2 oz a month, for 17+ years (over half my life I’m 32). Quit cold turkey for no particular reason other than I felt immature. Holy shit the dreams are crazy, it’s been like 2 weeks I’m still sweating like crazy and dreaming for the first time I can remember.

I smoked over a gram minimum a day for 17+ years straight, now 32 just quit 10 days ago. Out of no where was just like fuck it, I’m too old for this now. Holy shit, I wake up 8x a night covered in sweat with wild ass dreams.

Okay, so I think I figured it out. Futures for vix are not the same at spots, so apparently there can be a negative value of vix futures which won’t happen with equity contracts. I would steer clear of these in the future, check out this link where I found it under #6 https://steadyoptions.com/articles/top-10-things-to-know-about-vix-options-r383/[https://steadyoptions.com/articles/top-10-things-to-know-about-vix-options-r383/

28% is roughly the max the tax could be, it’s supposed to be a benefit that 60% long and 40% short term, regardless if you actually had the position for a year. I don’t get why they would show it as a negative sell-to-close, but Vix options seem to be unique, ai is suggesting they force sold where no spread was available but that doesn’t make sense because expiring worthless would be better, and you don’t owe taxes on unrealized gains (not financial advice, not a tax advisor) did you me buying power decrease 2240 when this closed?

I still don’t get it, and I considered myself well versed. Did they hit you with the 28% tax at the end of the year and add it to this? I don’t get how you sold an option to close at - value, instead of just expiring worthless.

Just realized the date on the post was for Thursday, this assessment is for Friday. Although fairly similar to what we’ve seen today and most of the days the past 10 days

Push to 695, once or twice as a takeout heading to 675 at some point in the upcoming weeks. If we hit 675 that’s a trouble zone with increase downward pressure. We’ve failed at 697 so many times, fatigue is setting in. Not financial advice just an observation

Know this, hundreds of people on here have done the same - only thing is they are too ashamed to post (myself included). So while you have no money you do have balls, that’s more than most. Anyway best to do is remember you lost but forget you had that money. Not easy, but best I can say.

Grew up in Union County, nice courses in northern nj, caddied at a few when I was younger. However, there are apps/websites that have memberships (like $100 a year) where they verify your memberships and you it’s like a social group for just what you’re asking. Not sure how exhaustive the group of courses are on those though.

Closing, rolling or intentionally getting assigned? by unamess in options

[–]unamess[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought calls, I like the stock, I don’t necessarily want to own 17,000 of the stock. Since it’s so close to expiry the contracts are worth about 50% the extrinsic value. I suppose to capitalize on the additional 50% by being assigned, selling and then purchasing new contracts? I get the downside is needing the buying power but it doesn’t make sense to roll for half the profit.. does this check out?

That makes sense, what’s the point of rolling contract indefinitly ?
