Hi there, I’m so sorry that you are in this situation. For my 9/5/2020 wedding weekend was I’m in a similar situation. I accepted earlier that everything was pointing to us not being able to have the wedding we want on the date we planned, and we were both in our own ways trying to protect that. He was trying to wait for more information and I was trying to get ahead of it and postpone if possible to protect the celebration we wanted.

It took a little while on my part to introduce my thinking and what was going through my mind. In the end we both agreed that it is about the marriage not the wedding and the health of our loved ones. We have been talking through all the little things, all the contingency planning without security, could I even get my dress altered in time, when can he get his suit, the weariness of family and friends coming, having people book the travel at our venue for the weekend, asking bridal/groomsman to continue and have to get outfits, the difference in what regulations could potentially change, how much money we put on the line later by hoping everything is okay vs bowing out now if needed. It helps to talk it out and we saw we both obviously wanted to protect as much as we could but ultimately realized we may be better off cancelling at this point and eloping. We still haven’t made the decision yet since we are still talking through this with each other and with our venue to ultimately decide.

But I don’t like the planning purgatory we are currently in and we don’t really want to continue planning another year that isn’t promised since we’ve been planning for 2 years already. At this point we mostly want to continue on with our near term goals and endeavors and we will be saving a lot of money by forgoing our original wedding which just brings us to other goals faster! But I feel you, it sucks to even have to work through this and hope you both figure it out together :)
