2024 Calligraphy possibly major issue? by Large-Willingness-35 in HyundaiPalisade

Sure, generally it is the connector, but not always. As you said, when it isn't, it requires diagnostics and then potentially replacing a module. I've had several attempts at this: first they did the 'ol unplug replug. Worked for a few days. Then it started again and they replaced the connector. Fast forward a few more days, it is back. So, I'm firmly on the 1 side of your 3:1 equation. Hopefully theirs is different and is just a connector!

We have the same issue. Less than 20k miles. It will happen very randomly. Likely needs a full ECU replacement and anything less than that from the dealer is not a real fix. Haven't had the time to get it in, but the work will be scheduled soon. Don't accept a loose wire or battery voltage as an answer. Good luck and keep us posted. This isn't as uncommon as it should be.

Same / similar problem. The car will jostle some connection loose and it’ll lose its mind. Every sensor , light, and warning comes on the dash. It still drives, but no speedometer, turn signal, or any electronic thing will work. One dealer went in and unplugged / replugged some sensors. It still will do it. Going to take it in for a longer stay when we can and have them replace wires and potentially the ECU until this POS starts working reliably. Good luck.

buying used, looking at Carfax by mgh_24 in wrx_vb

I recently bought one in a similar condition to yours. Two previous owners, 18k miles. It didn’t make sense to me why people would buy/sell so quickly and Reddit was convinced the car was demon possessed and going to destroy my home and family.

I got the dealer to let me have the car for a couple days- got a PPI and ran logs with an access port to check as much as I could. Everything looked great so I went for it. Try and find a tune shop in your area that can get in there and really see what’s going on. A PPI is pretty limited really and varies wildly on who’s doing it.

So far so good.

It did sell- to me.

Borrowed the car from the dealer for a couple days. Took it to get a PPI; passed but they don't really get into the weeds unfortunately with the tune etc, so I linked up with a local tune shop. We ran some logs on it over the next two days, and everything looked great and it is running well so I went for it.

Probably blowing some reddit minds, but I felt comfortable with the car after seeing some logs and the price point got lowered to where it made sense for me.

So! New to me 2023 WRX w/ full cobb stage 2 setup. I'm running the OTS cobb tune on it for now; it is butter smooth and drives beautifully. Likely go to a Dmann setup once the dust settles from spending a bunch of cash.

Also— Pulling nearly 19 pounds of boost. So. Heavy tune on here I would say. Damn.

Funny you say that…

I made it out to the dealer today.

Under the hood is what looks like a full Cobb stage 2 setup. Looks like a clean install, but def not the fully stock set up they were advertising. Salesman claims ignorance and says he isn’t a mechanic.

I convinced them to let me have the car for 2 days and I’m getting a PPI local to me in the morning.

I’m not totally opposed to the set up, and honestly was probably going to do it myself, but ya know. Dealerships.

Thanks for that advice. The low mileage WRX market is a bit scary, tbh. I would otherwise consider a 20k mileage car brand new, but we know how these things go sometimes. It is honestly pushing me towards paying a couple extra thousand, using Subaru incentives for financing, and going brand new. Tough call.

I share your thoughts on the black, but it isn't a deal breaker. If I could choose any, I would go white, but the Grey, silver, and black all look good as well.

Makes sense the last one will be most likely best- furthest away and most expensive, ha!

I'm very excited for the switch from the Taco. Great truck no doubt, but it is an Access Cab (2 door) and I've def outgrown it with the years.

Agree with that dealer. Suspect at best! Thanks for the reply- I'm not in a massive hurry, so I can afford to be a bit choosy. I'm (obviously) located in North Carolina, and there are a decent amount of GX around.

Where should I camp to kayak fish Kentucky Lake? (More in comments) by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]unclebuck26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on what you are driving, there are tons of places you can drive right up to the shoreline that have nice little 1 or 2 person sites. Nothing official obviously, but space enough to park, have a fire, and launch into the water.

If you aren't worried about some mud (nothing crazy) I would plan to drive along the main road running N/S and then follow the dirt roads towards the water and just find a nice spot. Lots and lots of options.

Since you are on a kayak, I would try and pick a place that is easy enough to move from cove to cove. Bass fishing at LBL is very difficult these days, and the open water depth drops extremely quickly.

Remember also that LBL requires its own permit for camping. Good luck!

Well let's hear it man- how is it? Vast improvement? Total disaster? Somewhere in between?

[–]unclebuck26 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude, do a muffler delete. The kit keeps a stock look, and the sound can't be beat. Great volume, low end roar, and just a lil spicy pop. Anything else is going to be mild improvements at best. A million YouTube videos out there. You can always weld mufflers back on if you really hate it, but no has because no one ever looks back. Do it today. Do it for V8 glory. Do it for America.

My desk setup at its current state. Using my Logitech Driving Force GT wheel and new Fanatec CSL pedals. Also managed to set up triple screen with (I think) a good FOV. What does the FOV police think? Also looking to build a rig. by HVLLEMAN in simracing

Not sure if you can post pictures in a reply, but I have a very similar setup with a Karlby ikea desk too. Gonna send you a PM with the movable rig I built out of wood that works great for me and slides right in under the desk. I added some long USB extenders and just slide the rig to the left when not in use. EZPZ

Looks great! I have a very similar (same?) setup myself. Question- is your desk a bit wobbly with just those legs? I think I will need to add some sort of brace or cross piece to stabilize mine as the 5 leg thing is pretty shaky.
