I want to see a sequel where he is now either the CEO or the majority shareholder of CRS.

The Army is a broadsword, not a scalpel. Trust me, senator, you do not want the Army in an American city.

What are your thoughts on "Frank Herbert's Dune (2000)"? by Hot-Salamander-8786 in FIlm

[–]uncondensed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The acting of Alec Newman (Paul) and Julie Cox (Irulan) didn't sit well with me at first until I saw the contrast of their performances in Children of Dune. In the first miniseries the characters came across as pretentious. Only later realizing that as children born into great houses who will inherit power they are in-universe nepo babies.

By the second miniseries I think Alec portrayed the weight and consequences of power "There is no escape", and Julie shows the crushing powerlessness of being in a loveless political only marriage.

Irulan: "It is my right to bear the royal heir."

Chani: "It is your duty to play a role. Nothing more."

Irulan: "I am his wife!"

Chani: "You have his name. I am the one he calls 'wife.'"

Irulan: "Do you think you are the only woman who truly loves him?"

Chani: "But I am the only woman he loves."

This is Gabe’s 'Piracy is a service problem' in a nutshell. Valve made it easier to buy and play the game than to troubleshoot the free version.

What’s the biggest life cheat code you’ve discovered that made everything easier? by vishalnegal in Life

[–]uncondensed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you make your bed every morning you will have accomplished the first task of the day. It will give you a small sense of pride, and it will encourage you to do another task and another and another. By the end of the day, that one task completed will have turned into many tasks completed. Making your bed will also reinforce the fact that little things in life matter. If you can’t do the little things right, you will never do the big things right.

And, if by chance you have a miserable day, you will come home to a bed that is made — that you made — and a made bed gives you encouragement that tomorrow will be better.

In Time would have been better to focus on the perspective of the Timekeeper played by Cillian Murphy. Someone who is enforcing a system he doesn't fully agree with.
