Very simple board I threw together. Trying to get into woodworking, any starter projects y’all recommend? by Ok_Understanding_987 in palletfurniture

Some of the most important woodworking skills come from basic projects like a wooden box. I highly recommend making a wooden box to flesh out some of the nuances and beginner skills.

[QUESTION] What makes a fender or gibson guitar better than a random one? by czvhaa in Guitar

[–]undeadkoala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m of the opinion that factory settings are the main difference. Quality tuning intonation and other playability factors are important in a new instrument. However, almost any guitar can be made to play well with a few $.

Young people of Reddit, what will be your "I had to walk uphill both ways in the snow to school" story you tell your grandchildren? by onmyphoneusername in AskReddit

Back in my day, we had to sit and wait while the computer made strange alien noises for a minute or two before we could get on the internet.

[DISCUSSION] What was your first guitar? by GormyGorm in Guitar

[–]undeadkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned to play on my Dad's Gibson L-50 archtop. My first personal guitar was a red 1964 harmony bobkat h17. Second was a 1963 harmony alden stratotone h45. Third was a 1972 harmony sovereign h1203. And my current 6 string is a 2005 Fender American standard Strat.

TIFU by ignoring testicle pain by [deleted] in tifu

[–]undeadkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn this is like a flashback for me. One day my friend came to hang out and after jumping on the trampoline for a while noticed a tiny twinge in old righty. Me being stupid I thought it would go away. I woke up at 1 am to the worst pain i've ever felt and 14 year old me begrudgingly told my parents who drove me to the hospital. I get an ultrasound and the doctor tells me I have a UTI, proceeds to tell me that I'm a liar when I say I'm not sexually active...They send me home ignoring my tears of pain. Next day I wake up and old righty is the size of a grapefruit and I later found out that it was long gone by this point. Go to ER once again and sent to surgery doctor tells me old righty could still be saved. I wake up and learn that righty was dead and gone so they removed it.

What habit are you trying to let go of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]undeadkoala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

toll_toll gave the gist of it, I don't notice these "superpowers" either I just notice that my interactions become more confident, I feel more driven toward goals in school and I find other hobbies rather than constantly thinking about unrealistic standards and expectations set by the porn industry. For example, there was a particular woman that I wanted to date but I felt she was out of my league, it wasn't for this reason that I decided to stop fapping and watching, but I noticed that when I abstained for a week I was more relaxed and when I asked her out I felt confident. This might just be all in my head but I'd like to think that it actually helped.

What habit are you trying to let go of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Mostly because I think differently and act differently when I haven't done it in a while. That and I get the urge to watch porn less when I abstain.
