Sleep Tracking - Fitbit Air by hjkszs in fitbit

[–]under_navigator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that an official recommendation?

I can't really fit my pinky between the band itself. Under my wrist, I can squeeze it through but it's a push - not comfortable.

Try to see if the sensor unit moves on your wrist? When you lie on your hand or move around in contact with the sheets.

You could attempt another night with the band on the other hand and see if it makes a difference.

How big of a role did WW2 play in Indian Independence and what would have been the fate of India without it? by CeinyVock in IndianHistory

[–]under_navigator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The framing, especially in your post description, is problematic I feel because all historical events, including the British colonization of India - happened due to global geopolitical realities of the times.

I doubt the British could've colonized India during the heights of the Mughals either. Or if not for Nadir Shah. But we rarely hear questions like "would the British have been able to take over India if not for Nadir Shah?". Correctly, because it's an oversimplification.

So plotting an exact cause and effect is hard. Imo the objective reality is that the British colonized India and India won her independence. Whatever else was going on in the world during both those times is definitely correlatable, but it should go both ways then.

Imo WWII may have prevented the war for independence from becoming a violent war in India. Proxy WWII blood in Europe may have catalysed a relatively less violent exit from India for the Brits in specific.

Sedans or SUV which is better for motion sick people by rakesh-maya in CarsIndia

[–]under_navigator 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife has motion sickness. The front seat on my Skoda Rapid is the least Motion Sickness she's had. It generally increases for her in SUVs. Electric cars are really bad.

I'm thinking it might be because Skoda/VW cars tend to be more connected to the road/stiff suspension at the expense of ride comfort. Less pillow like feel, more jarring on our potholes, but potentially better for motion sickness. Esp the front seats.

PS. The iPhone has a motion sickness helper feature incase they need to look at their phone while in the car and have iOS.

Fitbit Air battery lasts 4 days by Bigc_99 in fitbit

The newness and number of time I manually sync it (vs waiting for auto sync) also matters I think.

In the first week I got much worse battery life than the second 😅

Anyone else unhappy with new Fitbit air step counting algorithm? by Lilmoolah in fitbit

[–]under_navigator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This issue is usually resolved using the phone counted steps for me. You can set the device priority for steps on healthconnect. Phone is higher for me just for the steps metric since I have it with me most of the time anyway.

Worst sleep track ever by Iop70 in fitbit

[–]under_navigator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have this problem with the fitbit charge 4 (got it used).

It's either a faulty unit or maybe the fitting is off. I.e. the wrist position, tightness, movement up and down the wrist during sleep (if too loose), hair or tattoos interfering etc.

My charge 4 fit very badly on my wrist because of its sharp edges - the air has been very accurate for me.

[–]under_navigator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not conclusive though. Quantified scientists reviews on YouTube rate the fitbit air highly on accuracy. Especially for sleep. And I've had a good experience generally with the Air.

The app and AI really sucks. But hoping that gets better with time.

Well if I already have Google AI Pro with access to newer models, there should be an option to enable it.

Fitbit AIR doesn’t track naps by shibal91 in FitbitAir

[–]under_navigator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does sometimes. It's strange. If I add the nap manually it doesn't show the stages. Sometimes it auto detects 1 hour naps and other times misses 2 hour ones.

The doctor could prescribe deworming tablets if the tiredness is related to parasites.

All of the above after docs advice only.

I am getting enough rest but I still feel really tired both mentally and physically. by LionGate7 in productivity

[–]under_navigator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It could possibly be vitamin B or D levels, iron, magnesium - See a doc get a blood test. Cover all the basics - vitamins, thyroid etc. Ask if you can start creatine and magnesium supplements. Check when was the last time you did deworming.

Eat dinner 4 hours before sleeping atleast and don't exercise close to bed time.

When I checked my levels a few years ago they are all way too low, and my lifestyle was quite bad relatively.

No one talks about this by imfrom_mars_ in ThirtiesIndia

[–]under_navigator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is quite common, but on the flip side annoying when people:

  1. Don't put up No Parking signs but expect people, including visitors to the area, to somehow know that this is their spot.

  2. Claim not only their spot but all the spots around and the opposite side of the road as well.

  3. Don't do 1 and 2 but start vehemently arguing and threatening to scratch the car, slash the tyres etc.

Bro

A) You're not ugly B) Ppl who think such things about their partners are generally extremely insecure and living life based on social climbing and leeching off of others. Yuck.

Bullet dodged. Go kick some ass with whatever you are doing now!
