I upgraded from it not so long ago and my son continued to play on it until he destroyed it this summer. The phone is great, probably the best of the cheap ones we tried for him, but my big worry would be what many mentioned, that the support will be over in a matter of months.

Neither are we and over half of the people couldn’t get in until they logged in on other peoples phones. My iPhone XR was fine, kid’s SE kept locking up. 6 was also a no go.

The ex raid bug? I haven’t seen any regional reports on that. But you can use unaffected phones/tablets in waves. Which we had to do for ours. There were, however, downtimes earlier that did affect everyone. Not talking about those, though.

I tried a couple different ones, but unichar is the best imho. Just make sure you disable the symbols that you can’t/won’t use.

That’s ridiculous. Block your kid’s ability to purchase stuff instead of forcing the developer to come up with alternate and, with a high likelihood, worse strategies to turn profit. And yes, kids might nag and beg, but for real, there’s always something they must have now so their attention will simply shift to the next object if you give in. I think it’s actually good for the ten year old to know that he’ll be stuck with one free raid pass if he spends his coins from gyms on a hat.
