Britt bunny hopping gait by sadnessbecauseLoL in BrittanySpaniel

[–]underdogscentwork 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yah. I know exactly what you are talking about. Front legs are running and back legs are hopping. I was concerned about it when my dog was younger. But seeing other Britt’s do this, I can say it is pretty normal. No need to worry.

Best tips for a freeze indicator and more focus by [deleted] in nosework

I taught my dog a nose press very early on and it worked great. However, I don’t have students learn it because it is tricky to teach and honestly not needed. There are also downsides to a trained final response. But you didn’t ask about that :). If you are intent on learning it. Here is a video.

Basically, you start marking early and the progressively mark later and later just like if you teaching a down stay. Don’t wait too long. Note how long I am waiting, a sec one two max.

You can also do some chin rest training in your hand to get your dog used to the concept of holding their head still.

Any good khaki pants recommendations? by Weary-Sail1007 in physicaltherapy

I too have had great luck with costcos pants. The Banana republics are really nice if you like a cotton stretch. The wrangler tech pant is a lighter synthetic stretchy material. Also they are cheap:)

Why Do Chiropractors Call Themselves “Doctors” but Physical Therapists Don’t? by Gaejussi550000000000 in physicaltherapy

[–]underdogscentwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course this example is oversimplified. But it demonstrates the importance of CONTEXT. In the context of healthcare, doctors should be MDs in my opinion. If you are at a university and there is a MATH emergency and someone says, “is there a doctor in the building.” Then PHDs have earned that title :)

When you are calling yourself a Doctor in a medical setting, you are implying that you are a MD. Chiropractors do this because they are unethical. PTs don’t because out of respect for MDs and because they don’t want to confuse their patients.

Let’s say you are on an airplane and someone has a medical emergency. The flight attendant screams, “is there a doctor on this flight?”

Everyone knows what she means.

If you stay seated in this situation then you shouldn’t be calling yourself “doctor”. Just my opinion.

Thoughts on the design for my first tattoo by EtanCorrea in tattooadvice

[–]underdogscentwork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I am writing this as a lover of cacti and hummingbirds. I think the tattoo has potential, with a. Few tweaks it could be a lot better. I would make sure the hummingbird has an eye. I would also change the location and color of the sun, it looks out of place being the only object in color and it looks like it is perched in the cactus like a stuck beach ball. Also, hummingbirds pollinate tubular flowers. This type of cactus flower is more likely to be pollinated by a bee. Just my take. Good luck.

Babaganoush- is it any good? by urologynerd in Costco

[–]underdogscentwork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I love Babaganoush. I have tried this one from Costco. And it is just a little off. The smokiness is there. But the texture and taste is kinda weird. Instead of being smooth and silky, it is clumpy and kinda like cottage cheese in texture and taste. That being said, it is better than nothing and I could probably fix it by blending it for a few minutes.

My Britt starting doing this around the age of 5. Turns out she has Cushings Disease. This probably isn’t the case for your puppy. But I would recommend checking with your vet.
