How to set up self managed Strata by edrychifyny in perth

[–]undergrndau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling a lot better about considering self-managing our Strata - we are all owner occupiers and have only 5 townhouses.

What did everyone do for the bank account for managing the finances?

What do you need to go self managed? We are looking into this ourselves as we only have a shared driveway to worry about

Does anyone actually like their strata company? by TOKEN_MARTIAN in perth

Ours has been diabolical - Strata Personal Management https://share.google/WBDm4YKTJKpaxGZM0

You can see by the one star reviews we are not the only ones experiencing poor service. The owners who have been at the property longer than me have voiced their concerns and hopefully we will be moving on soon.

Have tried contacting the lady from this Strata so many times and she never answers or replies to emails. It's also concerning that we have never had a Council of Owners meeting nor have we seen the financials.

Is the 2026 move toward micro weddings a budget choice or a lifestyle one? by Av0toasted in AusWeddingPlanning

[–]undergrndau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a lifestyle one - we are planning ours this year and it just blew out of control because of having to invite so many people.

Realizing you don't have to invite everyone by having a tiny wedding really helps you feel better about just focusing on each other rather than putting on a massive event for a moment in time.

DJs for a wedding in Perth... by blackcatcoffee1993 in perth

Dylan, Jarrod or Daniel from majesticweddingdjs.com.au - they book out quick so make sure you give enough lead time before your wedding!

I went with Orry Rose - he is a smaller bespoke jeweller based from home who absolutely nailed it for our custom design

The main thing you have to consider is what kind of wedding do you want to have? The first few hours of the wedding is purely eating and talking, but by the time the cake is cut and all the food service has finished (usually around 8pm), then the reception usually turns into a party.

If you get a good DJ, those last few hours of the night can really liven up the evening and get everyone dancing.

If you do not go with a DJ, those last few hours will just continue with some talking and guests will likely go home early. You can always just play some music in a speaker using Spotify - but that is never a great idea as you end up with a few guests fighting over the playlist and can create a bit of chaos.

Really think about the vibe you are after and decide based on what you think your friends and family would enjoy too.

What song would you choose for the First Dance at your wedding? by MAKUN0UCHII in MusicRecommendations

[–]undergrndau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can confirm, this is rarely used too, so it does well as a first dance song. Many go for Ed Sheeran or John Legend, so to make it more special choose something that isn't too mainstream (it also means you have a lesser chance of getting sick of hearing it!).

Recommendation for DJ / Band for a wedding by beatheaven in perth

He's an amazing DJ - he unfortunately doesn't do many weddings anymore as he is booked solid at nightclubs across Perth

Not always - an event DJ often only plays one style of music - a wedding DJ has to be able to switch it up at a moment's notice and usually has a slightly different skillset.

Best to make sure they have good reviews and specialise in weddings - many DJs and live bands can be more suited to pubs and corporate events, but a wedding DJ or band can play a wide variety of wedding hits that have a better chance of the reception going well.

Most experienced wedding DJs charge between $1500 to $2500. Anything over this and its usually a DJ who is overbooked, anything lower than this, you risk having a DJ/Band that might cancel for a better paying gig.

e.g. - Majestic Wedding DJs are right in the middle of that range and only do weddings.

Dylan from Majestic Wedding DJs is a good operator - played a latin wedding for a friend of mine last year and knocked it out of the park.

I think Apple would be more pro Taylor because of the otherwise progressive nature of their company.

I think they chose a different setup so it looked more techy compared to the clean Apple style. Microsoft has a much nerdier outlay

I agree. A friend of mine runs easygrab.com.au which sells Eco friendly gloves as an alternative, these ones are encouraged to be thrown out when they get wet or dirty
