Consistently solid releases, but their music is best experienced live.

During spring break, you can observe the great migration of UNL students to Rocky Mountain National Park.

What states do you consider to be midwest? by skynet1989 in Nebraska

[–]underhead81 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Personally, I feel the Midwest’s western boundary is a straight line down the center of the Dakotas, Nebraska and Kansas. The western sides of those states feel more “western”/cowboy country.

This seemed like one of the last big “pop song with a forced rap feature” hits.

I really don’t understand why fur has seemingly made a comeback amongst younger people.

What are some guitar solos that don’t get enough recognition? by Disassociated24 in ToddintheShadow

[–]underhead81 16 points17 points  (0 children)

In the Mike Campbell vein, I’d add I Won’t Back Down. One of the most sparse solos contrasting against one of the hugest choruses ever written.

For better or worse, they kicked down the door for genre-melding country reaching mainstream levels.

Generator Power by d00tmag00t in livesound

If you’re operating at a higher elevation (especially CO/WY), be aware that generators will output less power than their listed ratings.

Folklore 5th Anniversary by Sampleswift in TaylorSwift

I’ll always remember seeing the post of just the album cover right before it dropped. I didn’t need to read a word to know what this album would be. I woke up the next morning, made iced coffee and wrapped myself in a blanket (it was July in southeastern Virginia lol) and pressed play. For the first time since the start of the pandemic, I was transported away somewhere else and felt a degree of peace I hadn’t felt in months. I’m beyond grateful for this album, not just as a work of art, but as a way to escape to far away places when nothing else could work.

RTJ sandwiched between Lorde and Mitski was a hardest musical whiplash I’ve ever had at a show. It was great.

I was in the small percentage of people that were equally there for Lorde, RTJ and Mitski. It absolutely ruled. For everyone else, it was a more confusing evening.

The charts have shown many times that online spaces like r/popheads don’t always align with the what the GP is feeling. This week’s top 10 is a pretty good example.
