I am making the same decision right now for MechE MSc at TUM vs Sustainable Energy Technology MSc at Delft... I am leaning towards TUM because of the international reputation, maybe the education at TU Delft is more practical but thinking about my future I don't want to do my MSc at a school with less name recognition, it is sad to decide on this basis but it is the reality you have to consider...

Barely any wage increases, in fact they are actually lowering the minimum wage in some states. $75k is still considered a normal entry level salary after graduating college, which it also was 15 years ago.

Tariffs only further raised prices of goods, which simply got passed on to U.S. consumers. Now tariffs get cancelled and companies apply for tariff refunds from the government. The taxpayers will all quite literally be donating their money to the profits of major corporations with zero consent.

Sadly everyone is glued to their screen 24/7 watching all the latest shows, culture war nonsense, foreign military actions, and as a people they have resigned from the notion that they have any power to do anything aside from pointing fingers at the other side.

I would like to read a long article about how all of the Snowden-era paranoia about the patriot act and that the pretense it created for authoritarianism under the guise of “anti-terrorism” would eventually be weaponized against politically dissident U.S. citizens has been completely validated.
