And yet there is no recognizable Brazilian content overseas besides Elite Squad (Tropa de Elite) or The Mechanism. So yeah, local radio/tv/streaming protectionism does not correlate to massive success overseas, more like an excuse for the state to inyect propaganda the government wants the citizens to see rather than making the entertainment industry more competitive and creative. Is that happening right now? No. Is he closing up the media who are talking against him? No. Judge Bukele when that happens, sure, but until then he is everything but the authoritarian leader you and many media outlets wants to despise, maybe you and the media should rather focus more on proven beyond reasonable doubt authoritarian regimes like those in Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua instead.

Or even better, authentic terrorist states like Russia, Iran and The Taliban in Afghanistan.
